Made an Entertainment Center based on a Gerrit Rietveld sideborad (buffet). Rietveld was a dutch architect and furniture maker back in the early to mid 20th century.

Here is Rietveld's sideboard which I have seen in dutch museums. I added the shelving on either side of the TV but tried to make it in the style of the sideboard. He used hickory I think but I just used birch plywood and laminated it when I needed thicker pieces for legs, etc.

That's awesome, definitely different style than you see in entertainment centers. Nicely done.

PapaPogey... are you using a box spring with your bed? I built a bed a couple years ago and don't use a box spring, and I swear that's why my back is killing me every day.

No box springs. I don’t see how that would make a difference on your back though

You always use a couple of pieces of wood and clamp them to the two pieces and mark your angles

I just measured the distance, cut the first side at the correct angle then drew a mark/line for the bottom piece.

Platform beds don't need box springs. The platform basically does what the box spring is there for (to prevent the mattress from falling through the support.)

If your back hurts you probably have a bad mattress.

This is a crafting desk that I made for mrs jibbajabba. It is my first real furniture so take it easy on me but I am inviting suggestions for improvement. It was a simple build. It took me three days, spending a couple of hours each day, and only four trips to Lowe’s and one trip to a furniture warehouse for the cabinets. It did give me the confidence that I can build wall units that we have been wanting for some time. That will likely be my next project.

Just started on another one this morning that someone requested. The other one I built was for my house so minimal out of pocket with leftover materials and supplies. Gonna sell this one for $400. Seem like a decent price? (Still in progress btw, finishing the texturing and stain in the next 2 days).

Update on this, 45 degree angles on the ones I cut today worked perfectly.

Sawed up well over 400sf of quartered sawed house lap siding yesterday morning. Almost impossible to find good clear siding these days.

Been working on a pair of these lately... got the base built for the first one and have mostly finished both stool tops. Going to build out the other frame soon then sand everything down
