I've used a Polaris 280 for over 20 yrs and it works very well.I have an L shaped pool and the 280 does a more than adequate job of cleaning it.

It takes maybe 3 minutes to take it out and roll the cord up. Another 2 to spray out the basket.

You only need to use it 2/3 times a week.

And you don’t have a clunky vacuum in your pool all the time

This makes no sense. I have a pressure side polaris. It takes 30 seconds to put in the pool and about a minute to take it out, and then I rinse it out. I do this 3 times a week. Easy peasy.

There is almost no difference, experientially. Some people leave them in all the time, others don't.

I don't know why the Polaris quattro got down voted. They go on sale multiple times a year, and I've had minimal maintenance in the past 2.5 years: replaced the tires ($40, 2 minutes) and an inlet spout ($20, 1 minute).

Well, you did say no electronics to worry about but my booster pump that runs my Polaris has gone out for the third time now.

So saying no electronics involved is not accurate and I have to frick with that thing all the time.

Touche, but booster pumps are 1/3 the cost of one of these dolphin cleaners and should last 10+ years. Mine has worked perfectly for 2.5 years. Sounds like you need a new one.

Started w a Polaris 280 and it did a good job, but would miss a lot of fine dirt. Went to a Polaris Quattro and it was great for a few months but turned out to be a giant piece of shite. Constant warranty repairs - plastic internal gears stripped, wheels would wear down and need replacement, gears would strip again. 6 warranty repairs in 3 years.

Once it crapped out post warranty I got a Beatbot aquasense. It’s ok. Works decently well but won’t map my pool because the side-bottom transition is curved. Should have saved a lot of $$ and gotten the Aiper.
