I have a 60" ExMark. Three years in and still going. For me, the machine is fine but it was more about the shop I bought it from.
They pick thing up, service it and bring it back to my house.
You can't ask for anything better.
Louisiana Power Equipment out of Sulphur. Phenomenal service.

I had a Hustler for about 10 years. I Never had a problem with it. All I did was perform the routine maintenance yearly

I have a Husqvara 42” zero turn for going on 7 years. Bought it when I built my house.
I have it serviced every year, and I hit the grease points before mowing. It does a good job mowing, but the right stalk has always given less turn power than the left.

I’d recommend looking around for a brand that has Parker transmission drives and a Kawasaki engine. I don’t know if Kawasaki still makes any mower engines in Japan but the one I have and others I’ve known of are extremely good engines and the Parker drives are strong and durable.

There is 1 company that makes ALL of the hydrostatic transmissions.
Parker also makes heavy duty hydroz but remember there are different models of hydros from them and Hydro Gear. As said, skip the big box stores and look at entry level commercial.
Hydro Gear ZT-3400 hydros
Kawasaki FX series engine
Best seat you can afford.

I have an Exmark Lazer Z 60" that is 20yr old. I've kept up the maintenance and have put about 1500 hours on it. It's been a great machine and I would recommend it to anyone.

That Exmark 60" is a great machine. I've had my Gravely 52" for 12 years without issue. It's the biggest in their residential line. I upgraded the seat to the air seat that comes on their commercial line. Can't go wrong with either one but I would get a commercial model for 6 acres.
Speaking of 6 acres...

Husqvarna MZ61
Make sure to get the Kawasaki engine and not the Kohler.

I have a Bad Boy and that thing is a cutting machine. Solid deck and well made.

I purchased an entry level Spartan last year to cut 3/4 of an acre. It's a solid machine and my first ZTR. I see no reason that it won't last a long time if properly maintained. I can't judge it yet because I've put less than 10 hrs on it. It has a great cut, though.

I’m currently looking for a 42” zero turn to cut 3/4 acre

Get a diesel.
I cut between 5-6 acres. I have a kubota. Engine is a beast, deck is meh. If buying over, I would go with a skag with a diesel.

Gravely or Hustler commercial mower.

I have a Scag Tiger Cat about 8 years old with a 52" deck and kawasaki fx motor. Love it. Still looks new when cleaned. Cuts about a regularly mowed acre every 20 minutes. Suspension seat is a must.

Snapper with the handle bars

If you are not in a rush, look at Facebook marketplace. There are good deals every now and then on used commercial equipment. You can buy commercial mower with less than 300 hours for a fraction of what a new unit costs.
But you have to be patient. It might take a few weeks for a good used unit to pop up.

I bought a zt elite limited 60 inch back in December. I’ve mowed three times with it and I couldn’t be happier so far.

I've got my eyes on the new xcite model of Husq, but I know I won't pull the trigger on that. I also love the ariens xd models with the kawasaki motor.
