Is it ok to cut Bermuda lawn with the current heat and no rain?

Would cutting it, stress it out more than it is? Sprayed and fertilized it about three weeks ago and haven’t had any rain yet.

Satan's spawn, aka Bermuda, grows in almost any condition. It's the hardest damn grass to kill IMO

Yes it is hard to kill, but this weather is like nothing I have ever seen. In the last 30 days, I haven’t accumulated more than 1 inch of rain.

I got over 5" of rain in a two day period over a week ago, but none since. With the temperatures reaching a 100 for several days my bermuda is looking bad. My rocky soil drains fast. I usually water after I mow, but it is not growing. I normally mow every 5 days, but is not growing. I may have to water before I mow this time.

I haven’t cut mine in at least two weeks and don’t plan to cut it.

It’s stressed to all hell and looks terrible. There’s not much to cut anyway since it’s not really growing.

Hasn't rained in months and I don't water it. Looks like hay. Haven't mowed since maybe May. Like it or not, it will come back.

I'm jealous you have grass that is actually growing

In my experience it is best to cut it right before or after it rains if it has been really dry. Just let it sit between rains if it's going to be hot as hell like this week. I'm skipping mowing this weekend for sure. It's a little bit longer but not out of control, that extra length shades the roots just a bit more and grabs more dew in the mornings.

I decided to water my bermuda instead of cutting it and then watering it. It will at least protect the roots some from these 100+ days. I started watering around 5 AM and stopped around 10 AM before it got to hot. I will continue watering tomorrow what I did not water today.

If Bermuda is completely brown, can it recover? Is the root system just dormant?

Bermuda goes dormant but it must get enough water to keep the crown alive.

I've taken this chance to thin out my bermuda. It has gotten so damn thick and the weather has finally started to thin it out. De-thatched, cut very short, aerated. Watered it once before and a couple of times after with some nitrogen fert and it's as good as it's ever looked.

My bermuda is unkillable. I would have to nuke it with roundup 3x then light the whole property on fire with napalm to even think there's a chance it will not come back

It has started to swallow everything in it's path as well. So the heat and drought helped me out there.

We’ve been cutting ours but there is still hints of green in it.

Bermuda is slowly taking over after these last 2 summers. Which I’m ok with, except the wife hates it and the dog is allergic to it lol. Never ending 105 degree days and no rain is meeting my thresholds in dealing with St. Augustine.

There's a golf course in my area that may be ruined.

Rain? Wtf is that as of late. I planted bermuda seed earlier this year and have been a watering maniac. Bring on something tropical at this point!
