Didn’t plan on buying one. I got the Kobolt one from Lowe’s. My 16 year old Gravely finally broke. The handle snapped in two. Gravely doesn’t even have a replacement part for it anymore.

The mower was $300. I checked out the reviews, mostly good. Most complained the battery lasts only 1-1.5 hours. That’s fine with me. I can cut my grass in 45 mins.

Anyone here have this one?

whats the battery size? thats the main thing. i wouldn't get anyhing with less than 7.5 ah

eta 7.5 is *close* to traditional gas run-time. i'd say it probably dies about 10 minutes sooner but varies based on how high the grass is you're mowing. nothing will chew through a battery like overgrown grass.

in other words, to avoid frustration keep your grass short so your mower will be able to finish before the battery dies.

i have the EGO with brushless motor; it has a self-propelled feature which i never use because i'd rather use more muscle to push it uphill and save the battery as much as possible for cutting.

7.5 doesn't come close to finishing my yard; i'm on 3.5 acres but probably .75 gets mowed. that's sudivided by numerous gardens and circular drive, etc. i can generally do about 50% of my yard with the 7.5 and then swap in the 5.0 when the 7.5 dies and then finish the next day.

in this heat, your charger probably isn't going to recharge an overheated battery right away; you may have to bring the thing inside for an hour to cool before putting it on the charger.

i will end up buying a second 7.5 at some point; just the facts. i didnt live here when i bought the mower or i probably wouldn't have gone this direction but now that i have it, i'm going to stick with it and just add another long-life battery.

anyway, a bit of rambling but that's been my mowing experience. if the grass is tall, you're gonna kill that battery right away.

that shouldn't have any trouble running 45 minutes.

eta 3rd year with my EGO; battery life has dropped off a bit but AMA. i have no desire to go back to a gas system. my whole tool ecosystem is EGO and ive never been this happy with lawn equipment.

I did just sell my Gravely for $100, so the electric one cost me $200

my ego was super expensive ($749 i think) but lowes had it on sale for $599 and i filled out a credit app with them which knocked another $100 off so i got it for rougly $550 after taxes.

its the mac-daddy, has LED lights for night mowing, brushless motor/double cutting blades, pretty much all the bells and whistles.

i was going with either the honda or the ego and i just decided to say frick it and go electric.

overall been very pleased except the first one i bought was a lemon and i had to take it back the following day; it would run for about 1 minute then flash an error code.

I had a Ryobi for a week. I really liked it. The handle was poorly designed and cracked on me. I figured a replacement would do the same thing so I returned it and got the Honda HRN. Last year I had carb trouble with the Honda and I was kicking myself for not sticking with the electric. It was nice being able to easily fold up the Ryobi and store it vertically. Powered through my St Aug with no issues.

Same. Slowly added components and finally bit the bullet and bought the mower in May 2023 when Lowe's had a big sale. My Honda push handle rusted through and broke, so it was the perfect time.

My only regret is buying the one with the self propel. The mower is so light, I don't need it and never use it.

Between putting in a pool, landscaping and other yard projects, the amount of grass I need to cut now is about half of what it was when we bought the house. I used to mow for about 35 minutes, now it's closer to 18. My 7.5aH battery has never gotten below 60% according to the lights on it.

The string trimmer isn't as powerful as my old Echo, but it's enough for 95% of residential needs. Not having to deal with gas and oil is worth the tradeoff.

The EGO blower was the first battery powered piece of lawn equipment I bought back in 2018, and it's still my favorite tool.

That sucks, battery costs $100 more than a brand new Honda GCV160 engine for my lawnmower.

Just bit the bullet myself this past weekend. Went to buy a cheap gas mower to mow a small backyard. Cheapest gas engine model was $450. Saw several electric ones for that price. Decided to look at EGO as I have loved the blower, trimmer and polesaw I have with them. But cheapest EGO mover in stock was $650. Spotted a Skil mower for $225. Figured what the heck. It did a decent job but I can't see mowing a decent sized yard with one of those.

I got the Kobolt one from Lowe’s.

We had one at the office at my previous job since we didn't really want to deal with keeping gas in a small office or haul a mower there each week.

When I left for my current job, it was still running like the day we got it and was 5-6 years old at that point.

I got the Kobalt weedeater and blower a year later and they ran great until last year. The battery finally went out. Since those batteries run about $190, I decided to switch and get an Ego that was on sale. Trimmer, blower, and battery all for $190. I actually wish I would have just gotten the Kobalt battery. This Ego dies much quicker. The only thing better about it is loading the string which could be a bit of a PITA with the Kobalt.

I do a half acre (1 acre lot) and the Greenworks 60V 5.0Ah is plenty 'nuff.
What voltage is your Kobalt? That's the bigger factor.
Self propelled isn't necessary with electric mower. They're light.
Greenworks has steel deck

I haven’t went green yet with the mower but have with the blower and weed eater. Ego blower and a green works trimmer, so far they’re done what I need.

Anyone in West Monroe area that wants a slightly used Ego walk behind lawnmower with more than one battery and a blower, also Ego, let me know. Couple or 3 chargers too. Might have a matching string trimmer.

Mom is wanting to sell it for whatever she can get and I am content with just giving it away for the space. Since my health collapsed I can’t use the stuff anymore and the garage is full of stuff.

It is about 4-5 years old but it’s still basically the same stuff as new just different sheet plastic. It has just been sitting without any batteries getting shuffled around, the batteries and chargers have been inside the laundry room.

Just curious for you and others with EGO, am I the only one that has issues using the weedeater as an edger? Loading the string is not the easiest, but ok. But the worst part is it always just gets super long quickly and I have to stop and shorten it all the time. Sometimes are better than others, but I haven't found an easy way to work this and my edging looks like I have the shakes in areas
