Yes, I have google. I've just gotten alot of different answers, both from the internet, actual quotes, and from a/c technicians just doing me a solid on their guesstimate.

What would be your guesstimate total cost of replacement (parts and labor) for an inside and outside unit plus ductwork, etc? Whole 9 yards.

3 Ton 14 Seer 410A Condensing Unit
3 ton 80+ Gas Furnace Unit
3 Ton Multi Positioned Cased Coil
Ductwork for an approximately 1500 sq ft living space
Miscellaneous

Baton Rouge - I had my 4 ton single stage unit replaced in Feb, Trane single stage SEER 16, 80% gas furnace, cased evaporator, plus the addition of an additional return air duct (fairly long run) - $13,500. Plus 10 year labor warranty. I retained the original rigid duct work, and had it tested for air leakage prior to getting quotes on the HVAC replacement.

I obtained 4 bids, small to medium sized companies, recommended by this board, and friends/neighbors and who I thought I’d be comfortable with - all 4 bids were within $1K of each other. Two bids were Trane products, and two Carrier/Byrant products. The other 3 companies, 2 cheaper, 1 not, quoted 14 SEER units, 1 year labor warranty.

Location? This always helps. A price in NOLA is not close to a price in BTR.

12-15k.

The ductwork from my experience recently can be the wild card.

That's really the only reason I'm asking. I've gotten quotes from at $10,000 and $16,000, same equipment, same work, same warranty, etc. But, I've also had people tell me it's a $8,000 job. So, I'm completely confused how it could range from $8,000-$16,000. I expected to get a pretty small variation then just pick who I trusted most.

Ain't no way you getting a whole new system AND ductwork for $8,000.....unless that's not counting labor.

I just got a quote for $23K. Just to replace the entire system, with necessary ductwork only (not the parts that go to the multiple vents). This was for a Ruud system, which I have no opinion on. Can I ask who quoted you?

Specs?

Also, should mine die anytime soon, I'm going back with minisplit systems. Super efficient, quiet, and do a phenomenal job.

I replaced a 3 ton 14 seer unit in a rental property this week for $7,057. That was just the unit.

As said duct work is where they will bend you over.

There is a huge profit margin on new units OP. Companies quote all over the place on new units, that’s why there is a huge variation.
