I leave a bowl of delicious ethylene glycol for the neighborhood pissers to enjoy on a hot day.

That will end up being bad for your health as well.

I’ve got a boy dog, his pee will permanently kill any type of grass, every time regardless of quantity. He is so annoying and knows he isn’t supposed to, always right by the house too.

Watering is the only thing that works, but he does it while I’m not looking most of the time. I’ve researched this a bit, and the only thing that people seem to work for some dogs are these rocks you out in their water. Haven’t tried it, but it does actually sound like it may work for maybe 20% of dogs.

I’ve worked hard to get the entire yard to grow grass, because plugs are really the best way to fix it. So I can plug from another area if necessary, but not there yet.

My daughter has a boy dog like this. He “squats” like an inch and ends up pissing on the back of his front legs about a quarter of the time.

Anyone have any tried and true remedies for neighborhood dogs? I have tried coffee grounds around the dead patches to encourage them to piss elsewhere but I’m not sure it’s having an impact

Well … my husband won’t have male dogs anymore because of the lifting the leg on objects . His male lab peed into the outside AC unit and of course the male shepherd had to follow . The two of them rotted the coils in the unit ! The AC repair guy said he never saw disintegrated coils as bad as that before LOL ! We have nice white columns around the back carport and the front of the house . So , we have girlie german shepherds . Very clean , wants to go for a walk to pee and poop on the neighbors lawn . I carry poop bags ! ??

don’t mind the spots. I love the deep green grass that comes up eventually.

The spot where my female dog pisses has exploded in the last two weeks. Thick green grass in a 8x8 spot right off my back porch.

Nitrogen. Your yard doesn't have enough.

Yards with enough nitrogen get burned by the excess nitrogen delivered by dog urine.

My son’s Goldens pee is like acid. My Husky/GSD mix is not an issue but only on occasion since he pees almost everywhere. It’s the long morning piss that makes a mark. I seeded an area this March and the new grass is doing great but is susceptible to pee marks until it roots well.

I can often steer my dog to the driveway first and then he sprays a few hardy shrubs with no after effects.
