Guess I have to bring it to the shop.
It's an ExMark. 4 years old. Serviced every year.
I don't know anything about working on a mower.

If this is the first time you're starting it this season, did you winterize it at your shop before putting it up? Draining fuel, etc? I don't suppose it matters since you're going to have to bring it to the shop anyway, but gas doesn't stay good forever, which is why they make products like Sta-bil.

Could be battery, or more than likely the solenoid.
If you can’t troubleshoot, the shop will figure it out. Might be worth charging battery or simply trying jumper cables to see if it’s the battery.
If you have a multimeter, you can narrow down the problem.

Last season I didn't remove the battery from my riding mower (or put it on a trickle charger). When I tried to crank it up in the Spring, it would only click. I would charge the battery, but it would still only click. I changed the battery and no issues since.

All clicks no turn sounds exactly like a battery? Put some jumper cables on there if you don’t have a 100+ amp booster box.

I assume they all use 12-volt batteries now but I do remember back in the Stone Age when some riders had 6-volt batteries.

If you are in an area that got colder than normal for the winter, there's a damn good chance it's the battery. Cold weather will do in many old batteries. It happened to my stepdaughter's and also mine this past February when we had several days of cold and snow in the N.O. area.
Put it on a charger and see if it comes back enough to start the mower and continue to start it after it's been charged by the machine while running.

I am guessing it’s electric start princess? Charge the battery and hit it with your purse!
