I posted recently about two arborvitaes that I have by our front door. The one on the right has died every year for the last three years. No idea. Gets sun and water just like the left one.

Instead of spending $199 a year on replacing it, I went the fake route. Got two trees for $160 and they are so lifelike you can’t even tell the difference. Just wanted to share in case others have a need for these type of trees.

Haven’t changed the pots yet:

I’ve always thought that’s the best way to go. Wife says “they are fake, people will know”
I said people don’t give a frick about our plants.

Probably. Haven’t decided if they’re too big or not.

I like where your head is at because we are about to buy the same 2 trees.

I would want something a little taller..i see the 7' 2-pack is $400 so at that price I'm going to have to think about doing fake vs real.

7 foot cypress pines 2 pack

We have moved to a lot of fake tree/plants around our house as well.

If you pay a little extra, you can fine some really nice looking fake trees.

Also, I've found that the smaller leaved trees always look better/more real than bigger leaved trees/plants.

Like I don't think fake figs look good because the leaf is too big, but ferns/grasses and whatnot always look good fake.

Yeah I've looked all over and cannot find one that I like.

I might replace my cone shaped boxwoods with these. They aren't dying but they aren't growing either.

Funny you mention the right plant dying. This is what I’m dealing with right now

Any issue with fading in the sun? I could 100% get on board with this. I'm so ready to put some low-maintenance evergreens in the front yard but fake would be even better. Even if each plant is $100 it would be more economical for us anyway because we usually spend $200 in new plants for those beds every spring and it still ends up looking like shite 8 months out of the year.
