Best way to get rid of Banana Trees

Have some growing in a corner of my yard and I would like to place a shed there. I want to get rid of them for good, and not have them growing around/under my new shed.

To kill a banana plant, you can cut it down and remove all suckers that may sprout around the base; you can dig it up entirely; you can apply a chemical herbicide; or you can fill a cut stalk with kerosene.

Do you have access to a nuclear weapon?

Kerosene as mentioned (cup) on cut stem or inject with needle/syringe 2 ml undiluted 41% concentration glyphosate at eye height in a couple places on stem.

I tried everything to get rid of mine. Nothing worked. Had to just bite the bullet and spend an entire day digging them up. Good luck

Mix 24d and glyphosphate and dawn. Cut to the ground. Spray.
Done. They wont come back.

Salt. Cut them down and pour some salt on the base of stalk. Don't expect any lush, green grass to grow there.

I've posted this before on this very topic. I had lots of banana plants at the rear of my property when I first moved to it in 92.
I cut them down and digging them up was not going to happen in my heavy clay soil, so every time ANY green showed it's head above ground I shaved it off with a shovel. This eventually killed the plants due to them not going through photosynthesis to keep the plants alive.
This method also works for Elephant Ear plants and Hidden Ginger since I also had an abundance of that in my yard at one time.

I had a quite a few in my designated area when I bought my current house. Paid someone to come in with a tractor and buckets and dig all of them up and haven’t had an issue since.

Inject each main stalk with pure weed master.

When I was in my 20s I cut a dead one down with a lawnmower. Cue “adult onset asthma”. Doc laughed when I gave him my diagnosis. Lab work came back with 30 percent eosinophils. He looked at it and said “well crap, you are correct “. Anyways, if you start wheezing when dealing with it... there’s your diagnosis.
