Best riding mower for hill

So just moved into a new house and sold my Toto ZTR I’ve had for 12 years - great mower but my new yard has a big hill in the front and because of flower bed placement not the cleanest to turn around. After a month of pushing/self propelled can anyone recommend a type of rider better suited to the hills?
From what I have read more of a lawn tractor style bc of front wheels linked to steering but I am not sure.

A lawn tractor will be 100% better than zero turn on a hill. I have a big hill and have a John Deere that has worked wonderfully for nearly 20 years. Get the size deck that you want and then get the largest motor that comes with that deck size,

My Husqvarna 22v46 lawn tractor sucks arse on my hill. It can't go up the steepest part, the brake cannot stop it going down (I've tried to find ways to adjust, the brake is just weak), and it's not wide enough to not tip over going across. I do sketchy things every week. My neighbor rolled his, he decided to get rid of it for a push. So I don't recommend one. I see every lawn crew around here tackle worse hills than mine with a zero turn, and I watch them do it and it's much more stable than the lawn tractor. I don't get why people always say the lawn tractor is better, I have found it to suck greatly.

Haha hoping you wouldn’t say that - I may regret selling it but at end of the day it was 12 yrs old and I was on borrowed time despite it having 0 issues

I have a Husqvarna in the XD (heavy duty) line. 21.5 HP Kawasaki V-twin
Works great on hills and swales for me.
Edit: you can get a 23HP Kawasaki engine in some tractors now. I think a 26hp on their zturns

A) buy a lawn tractor with an upgraded transmission or that hill will chew it up and spit it out in no time. The only consumer grade tractors I can vouch for are the X series John Deere (used to be 300 and 500 series but might’ve changed) but it was years ago so I’d do some research first
B) make sure you have tires with aggressive tread but not so stubby that they chew up the grass if it’s a bit wet or soft
Depending on the grade you will have to adjust your angle of approach to go straight up and down, you don’t ever want to risk tipping and it’s easier to have happen than you would think.

No doubt the are better ones than I have, just sharing that "lawn tractor" in general is not a guaranteed solution for hills. I probably need a better engine, wider, definitely better transmission and differential, the stupid thing always manages to send the power to the wrong wheel.
And while I'm bitching, the deck sucks. Hard to keep an even cut, though a lot of that is due to crazy rock bumps in my yard, and I've had to have it welded where it was splitting.

I have the Husqvarna TS 248XD with 23 hp Kaw. Handles hills quite nice.
The 48" cut isn't so great for parallel rows sideways on the hill. A narrower deck is better for contoured land such as high sloped house foundations.

Don't need another mower just need better tires. Look up a set of bar tires or chevron tires in the stock size you have now. And no the wont tear the yard up if you do good 3 point turns with em. I run bar tires on 4 zero turns and its night and day difference on hils or ditch banks. Even when its wet and soft you dont spin you just cruise along.
Edit: just realized you sold your z turn. Get a decent semi commercial mower. Wider stance the better and then put the bar tires on it.
