Thanks everyone. I’m on vacation right now but it’s still having problems. Can anyone recommend a good and decently priced company to call in Ascension Parish? Gonna have to deal with this when I get back.

We have 3 Lennonx in our house that we built in 2019. We have a Freon leak in our master and have to have the coil/compressor replaced (can’t remember which). Other than that, they work great.

Glaze HVAC is decent people. I know the owner. Can't comment on their pricing, I'm sure everyone is extremely high right now. I'd trust em to do mine.

Thank you. I’ve always heard good things about American Standard and Trane. Not ready to drop $10k on this. Worst possible timing for me.

Not saying this will ease your pain at all, but most companies have an outside financing agency that will give you twelve months same as cash.

10 years in not old for an AC unit. My neighbor put in a Goodman about 14 years ago and he runs that thing 24/7 and it's running strong. He even let's it run when goes on vacation. Goodman is made by another name brand, I don't know who but I did at one time

I have owned two Goodman systems (both new with new construction home).

#1- Had to replace the whole system in 4 years. Compressor died after 2 years.

#2- Capacitor on the 3 ton and evap coil on the 5 ton systems. Costs $1800.00 even with warranty coverage.

I will never own another Goodman system. We built in 2022 and put in Lennox systems. I like them so far.

I would recommend Carrier, Lennox or Rheem if $ is considered. Trane if you want to spend more.

My advice is worth the money you paid for it... consider that. LOL

American Standard or Trane.

They are literally made in the same factories, just have different labeling.
Not disparaging the quality, just clarifying that they are the exact same units.

First the capacitor was replaced. It worked again for 24 hours and stopped again. Then they replaced the motor outside and again, it worked for 24 hours and is now working when it feels like it. Sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn’t.

I just went though this.

Capacitor changed, worked for a day
Condenser fan changed, worked for a day
Mother board changes, worked for 6 hours
Every piece on the low voltage end changed, worked for 5 days
Blower motor changed, now running for 2+ weeks

About $2600 in on this unit so far. Also not counting the $3200 we paid a month before to replace the coil and recharge on the unit at the other end of the house.

In central MS I see a lot of Rheem. Last fall, I got a new 4 ton Rheem (changed everything but the duct) for less than $7k. Life time warranty from installer.

We put a 2-stage Lennox upstairs and single downstairs in 2018. Been very pleased with them. Do wish I sprung for the 2-stage downstairs though. Went cheaper since we had to replace both at the same time.

That explains the “lifetime” warranty.

What brand do you have now that only lasted 10 years? That's the one I'd be sure to stay away from in the future.

I replaced my entire system 4 years ago when my previous system was 27 years in service and still working. I was just afraid I was pushing my luck and had it replaced in the early spring of 2019.

It is a 4 ton Trane unit that cost me $6,800 to remove the old stuff, replace with new and hook the ductwork back up to the supply plenum. I have all metal duct work I put in myself in 92.

Since 2007, Trane has not been owned by American Standard but by Ingersoll Rand.

Trane was a bigger company than IR when IR "bought" them.
They were just an investment piece by the people that owned IR, as well as Club Car, Thermo King and a few other entities. IR didn't have any influence on Trane.

They have since broken off into separate companies recently as that investment group sold off each company individually, and Trane actually took over the campus headquarters IR had in Davidson, NC, and basically kicked them out.

I got 2 Daikan variable speed units installed about 5 years ago. Have had zero issues with them other than the shitty arse smart thermostat they came with, but they fixed that issue and have a different thermostat now.
They seemed to have the best warranty when i was shopping around. and yes they do financing, as my complete system i had to get replaced was $27k. It was 5 years no interest, or 10 years 1.9% if i remember correctly.

Thanks everyone. I got Thermal Solutions to come out and it turned out my blower was broken. No clue why a broken blower would result in only hot air coming out as opposed to cold air coming out but I don’t have to understand it. It’s fixed now and that’s all that matters
