Seal and install one way bat door (may require permit in some areas). I have had good luck with ultrasonic sensors when bats first move in, but if they are already established the only thing you can do is seal the holes (install one way bat traps in a few to allow bats already inside a way out). If there are young bats or late term pregnant bats they are going to need to be relocated by hand. If you go in to clean the area make sure you are wearing protection.

Good info, thank you. Not sure if some are pregnant. If I understand you correctly you are saying to install 1 way bat traps in some of the weep holes that are in the brick. Correct?

Watch at daybreak and you can tell where they are entering and exiting. If it’s an attack you can see where the daylight is coming in.

Well, if it's an attack, you should probably run.

First you make a broth...
Seriously, many bat species are protected. I know a realtor that was trying to sell a $2Million house in FL that had a bat colony in the attic. The house went unsold for almost 3 years. The state would not grant a permit for removal. Any action to deter them was illegal.
Make sure don't get yourself in legal trouble by letting a bunch of people know that you have bats.

Flame thrower? This seems like something a flamethrower would solve.

I’ve seen someone hang netting at the exit. They can crawl out but can’t crawl in.
Another option was a cone of 3/4 wire mesh. Principal is the same - they can exit but can’t get back in

This. Assuming you are in LA, check with the LA Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) to speak with someone in the wildlife division for further details. Here is LDWF’s list authorized list of nuisance wildlife control operators that deal with nuisance bat issues. LINK
If a protected species you may not be able to legally do anything to seal the entry points until they exit.

Dropped my phone and shattered the screen pretty good. Going to be about a week before I can get into town to have it repaired. I expect I will have considerably more of these over the next week.

congrats on the lack of mosquitos around your place? Build em a house nearby and keep them in the area. They eat a ton of bugs at night

The absolute last thing anyone should do unless you feel like footing the bill for a bat colony in perpetuity.

If you’ve got a neighbor you don’t like, set it to a timer and shine this on their house where the eve meets the wall around dusk every day. It’ll take a week or so before all the bats are gone.
