Airless paint sprayer recs

I'd like to buy an airless paint sprayer for home projects and some rental property stuff. I don't mind spending money, but my issue I'm running into is that most of them are designed for a ton of paint. I used a Graco x5 or X7 a couple years ago, and it was great if you were using like 5 gallons at a time, but the days we had just a gallon or 2 you basically wasted half the paint in clean up.
These are more the quart projects than 5 gallons. The problem with all the smaller ones and handhelds is they just don't get great reviews.
The Graco Ultra Quickshot seems reasonable at $1200, but I can get an x7 for half that and waste a shite ton of paint for $600 in clean up.
Are there any other options or suggestions?

I've used this one for about 5 years for big and small projects. If you managed the priming right, you can do it without wasting much paint. I'd buy the Amazon open box return for $226 and call it a win.

I don't think you are going to find one that doesn't relatively waste a bunch of paint / stain for small jobs.
I got the Wagner Control Pro 170 on sale over Father's Day and have used it a ton with zero issues. Stained our fence, painted multiple rooms with the roller attachment and other smaller projects.
The fence used 2x 5 gallon buckets and I finished the last section with a 1 gallon bucket, so relative waste of stain was a rounding error.

I have that one and I waste a crap load every time I use it
Guess I'm priming it wrong.
Other than that it works great.

I prime it and am ready to kick it off as soon as paint and not water comes out. Then I purge it back into the pain and try to catch it just as the water comes out. Basically drain catch everything in the lines back into the paint. I don't tend to use it for anything too small though. It's been quite the little workhorse though. I did all my baseboards and ceiling molding when I had my floors redone and bought the roller attachment to do all of the walls at the same time. Did 80% of my house with the ceiling masking the only real effort.

I have never met an airless sprayer that didn’t just thoroughly piss me off the first day I tried to mess with it!

What are you spraying? If it's fine finish stuff like cabinet doors, get a Graco Finishpro or Titan Capspray turbine sprayer with the 3M cup conversion for your gun. Very little cleanup and you get better paint transfer than an airless. The graco ultra quick shot is pretty easy to clean and is more portable than a turbine sprayer.
If you're touching up walls, ceilings, etc, just brush it or use a small roller.

Another Vote for the Graco Magnum. Put about 40 Gallons of primer and paint through ours on the barndominium and it worked great.

I have a TC Pro cordless, solid and has done a great job on a number of projects over the years. If I was in the market again I would probably get the Ultra QuickShot II. I am already in the Dewalt ecosystem so I have lots of batteries.

I have the Graco that runs on a dewalt battery. Works great. I didn’t keep up with the maintenance and it sat a while. I had to replace the pump but it was easy and cost about $150. 8 years I have been using it. There is an after market container that you can buy that extends the spraying capacity.
