We have two regulars, one I swear let’s me know when the feeder needs refreshing. He gets all in a tizzy, flitting and flying and chirping up a storm. At some point he sat on the feeder hanger and just let me have it. I refreshed, he came back and ate and left!

Crazily enough, mine love the cheap $2 from Dollar General the best. I put up different, prettier ones one year and had very few birds. Changed them back out and within a week was up to the swarms I was used to!

I find I like the ones with the ant moat on them
I try to stay away from the ones with the base like this

Had one somehow get caught in it, luckily we were outside & was able to push it out with a fly swatter

Those are what I have. Under $10 at Walmart.

Another bump this morning. Now into impossible to count phase.

If you've only got one or two coming to your feeder, I really like these: LINK They're very easy to clean.
If you've got several, you'll need one with a jar.

They do love them
I’m sure it was a freak occurrence & will never happen again but the one that was stuck was really stuck & would have died had we not been outside

Got 5-6 steadily feeding. I think it would be more except for one bully who spends the entire day chasing other hummers away.

Amusing story, last week two of my regulars flew into the open door of my 12x16 workshop and couldn’t get out. I got one to land on my broom and I carried it out.

The second one flew around till it got exhausted and I was able to carefully shoo him out. He was very elusive. Was kinda worried about the second one. Kept flying into the ceiling lights.

We went from 3 hummers living here to 8 or so feeding. Have 6 feeders up. Mid-migration season we have about 10 feeders up. Most we have had is about 40 at one time. Great sight to see.

We always have one or two bullies guarding a couple of feeders. Ya just can't train 'em to let the others to the table(feeder).

During this season, my wife will not take vacation, since she has to keep the feeders full.

Twice I went on long weekend trips where my wife did not refill the feeders as I asked. Both times the numbers dropped dramatically.

Best? That's going to solicit a zillion answers
We have about 14 out right now and have gone through many over the years. I can tell you the cheap ones from Dollar Tree are very attractive to them. They will fade over the summer but are easily replaced and cheap.
We buy a case early each year

If it happens again turn the lights off
Seems like a simple answer but it took me several hours to think to do it
Soon as I did he went out the door

With y'all having that many feeders, you have to be making your own sugar water. What's the best recipe?

Mine are loaded. Looking back at all my videos, the 10th through 15th seems to be the sweet spot here for max numbers.
