This rain sucks. Most of my sub golds split, but some were still good. I went ahead and harvested everything that had a hint of yellow.

Kern is coming in. And at least some of the cukes listened to my pep talk! The LSU bullpen on the other hand...

Had a bee on my cucumbers too. I think I'm going to have more than I know what to do with in a few weeks.

I went from seeing none to seeing a ton. I don’t know where they’ve been, but they finally found my garden. There were quite a few small black bees and bumblebees. And I don’t know if it’s one of mine or not, but I even caught a honeybee working the cukes.

So I expect the cucumbers to finally start coming in, as well as more squash and zucchini, watermelon, and butternut.

Speaking of squash, I found quite a few SVB eggs this afternoon. I picked off all that I could find and did my weekly Bt injection. I’ve still yet to find a single egg on the blue hubbard. A lot of good it’s doing me.

ETA: We’ll be picking some beans over here soon also. Things are just getting started here.

Blue lake and tenderette. I did a taste test after the first harvest, and they're pretty much the same, so I don't bother separating them.

Has anybody here grown Indian Snake Beans? It's an edible gourd. Looking forward to trying them and they have one of the coolest looking flowers I've seen.

What's your operation to keep worms out of your corn?

When did you plant your corn? I'm assuming you're further south than I am. I threw out my first attempt the first week of March, but that late cold spell stalled germination. Wasn't able to get seeds replanted until 3/23.

Wow, I thought I started my cucumbers as early as physically possible, and I don't have any yet. The only things I am harvesting now are bells and jalapenos.

I seed started the corn in soil blocks mid February. Transplanted March 4. March 19-20 got down to 37 degrees, but they didn't skip a beat.

Sausage I spayed Bt on the silks once they appeared. But we always got rain 1-2 days afterwards, and I wasn't exactly religious about reapplying. Of the 7 ears I pulled, 3 had little earworms. Honestly I'd rather have a few of them than use insecticide.

I had only two big cucumbers, the rest are just a couple inches. So I guess I just had a couple early bloomers and the rest are on normal schedule? It's kind of strange.

Well, shezam Sargeant Carter. Those are stunning.

I harvested one pot of potatoes this morning. Roasting them now. Supposed to be Yukon Gold, but are not gold inside.

We are having a “garden dinner” tonight. Made baba ganoush out of the eggplant. I sliced up that giant Cherokee Purple tomato and it’s delicious. Grilled some zucchini, Jimmy Nardello peppers, and shishito peppers.

That looks awesome! Baba ganoush is my new favorite thing to make with eggplant. But you forgot the Tums. I would have to top all those nightshades off with a couple.

tGOAT.

I’m jealous. I’m a month out from legit harvests. I’ve got a bunch of jalapeños I could probably pick over the next couple weeks though. I’m gonna be out of town fishing all next week though, so hopefully when I come back I can start harvesting some stuff.

Looks great, I could eat 5 pounds of shishito peppers every day. I have 6-7 plants now but we’re behind y’all a month or so in growth. You put lemon juice on them?

Yep, squeezed a little on top of the peppers and in the baba ganoush. Good stuff. We will certainly be eating our fill of shishitos this summer. The plants are loaded!

I was somewhat excited about how tall two of my grape tomato plants had gotten. That was until the storm last night. Devastation!

yeah i have a grape tomato plant that's over 6' tall now. It's getting ridiculous, and it's pissing me off b/c it's taking over where i have a nice bell pepper plant growing but it's constantly in the shade b/c of the towering tomato plant.

Yesterday was the first day i spotted a bee on any of my vegetables. been having flowers galore on my cucumbers and tomato's but wasn't until the last probably 3 days have i seen any actually start growing. Still no bell peppers, although i planted everything the week of Easter.
