That's not the point.
I kind of understand since I grow a lot of my own produce year round. However, some things just aren't worth the trouble for me, like summer squash with dealing with squash vine borers that destroy the plants around the first picking of fruit, or corn that only produces on average 2 ears per stalk when I can buy it at the store 8 for $1 when in season.

For the love of the game!

Why aren’t my turnip seeds germinating? They’re in my raised bed in very fertile soil. It’s been 6 days.

Are they new seeds or leftovers from last year? And if old seeds, how were they stored?
I've bought fresh seeds from places like Home Depot and Lowes and they were for the current season but failed to germinate. Happens some time. After only 6 days, I'd give them more time, and keep the ground moist to help them along in this heat.
Seeds will sprout, start putting down roots and if not kept watered during that time, they can die off quickly when we have these temperatures.

Seeds. New seeds fresh out of the packet.
I’ll keep watering them.
I did miss a couple days of watering this weekend due to going out of town. That could be the case.

That could be the issue since you planted them in a raised bed. I have a good size raised bed for root vegetables and it dries out quicker than my typical in ground rowed garden.

B/c it’s too damn hot.
The seeds are sitting at the top of the dirt and it’s almost impossible to keep moisture there right now. Next week should be slightly better in regards to the heat.

Cover them with a board check daily

i put some chinese cabbage and bell pepper seeds in my raised bed about 2 weeks ago and they never sprouted up. I was watering by hand twice a day and the top of the soil just wasn't staying wet enough. that hot sun just soaks up that water in no time.
i finally ran some water to my garden and put some soaker hoses in and have them automatically going off every 6 hours. planted new seeds just 4 days ago and already have them sprouting up.

Got a good laugh this morning. My wife called me hollering about my lab. When she stepped outside with her coffee this morning the pup walked up and put a dead rat in her hand. Glad that bastard won't be eating my garden anymore.

I've seen a significant decrease in SVB activity! I know it ain't over yet. But so far I have been able to protect my pumpkins from harm. As far as I can tell.
My first Sugar Pie pumpkin is starting to turn orange! Actually, 2 of them are. I hope I get a ton so I can practice my pie making skills!
Also, one of my extra large variety pumpkins (Captain Jack) made it's first viable female flower! I noticed it yesterday afternoon. The bloom had already closed up, so I hope it got pollinated. With the amount of bees I've been seeing daily in the pumpkin vines, I'm going to assume it did. I'll check to see if it is getting any bigger this afternoon. Or if it's dying off.

What do vine borers eat when squash isn't around? I haven't had any trouble with them before. Fingers crossed that I don't start.

I have no idea. I’ve never seen one in my life until last year when I planted pumpkins for the first time. My seedlings were only about 3” tall and they found them.
I had read that if you have problems with them then you should take a year off from planting squash. I guess the idea is that if you don’t grow squash for the moths to lay eggs in, then you’ll have no overwintering pupae. Thus eliminating, or at least reducing, the problem the next year. Well I had never grown any type of squash before and they just magically appeared the first time I tried. So I don’t think that would work for me.
ETA: Looks like the Captain Jack got a little bigger since this morning. Might have something to carve for Halloween!
And the a couple of the Sugar Pies are starting to turn orange!

My Corbaci plant is finally producing like crazy. This one froze to the ground in March then got aphids really bad. Took a while for it to get going. They aren't as flavorful as the Jimmy Nardellos but they've been fun to cook with.
I'm pulling up my shishito plants tomorrow. They're loaded with ripe peppers. Going to dehydrate and powder them.

Yup! The baker creek description said its one of the heaviest producing pepper varieties. There's so many on it that it looks fake.

Well, my Captain Jack pumpkin yellowed and died off. So I guess it didn’t get pollinated after all. All of the vines are looking really healthy, so it’s a matter of time. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn’t get my first Connecticut Field pumpkin last year until September.
I plucked all of the our remaining watermelons and pulled the vines. We’ve had enough. Cut one of the last ones open this weekend and it was a beauty.
I gave a few to some of the neighbors and we kept the last 2 for ourselves.

How many are you getting per vine? Do you cull any small ones so a few will get big or just let them go? I have a Leelanau Sweetglo with 4 or 5 lil melons on it, was wondering if I need to pull some.

It looks perfect.
I planted Kajara, Tigger, and Model melons. The Tiggers look like they're doing best in the heat. T

I'm optimistic about my squash. I planted Acorn Squash in the spring and none of the fruit ever set. They all got fuzzy and fell off. I sprayed copper fungicide on my current squash, hopefully it works. I planted Scallop, Butternut, Desi, Acorn, and Guicoy.
