How do I kill it?

That’s why I love having Bermuda.

Got some serious weeds with little purple flowers in a bermuda lawn up here in N. Alabama. Looking for a spray that I can put down while the Bermuda is still dormant. Most of the stuff I've been seeing won't activate until at least 70 degrees...I'm worried the Bermuda won't be dormant then.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've had great results with Holganix in my centipede lawn. Just smells like hell

Are you getting it from Ewing? Are you using the Holganix based granules?

I have used Celsius for the past 4 years at a mix rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon plus surfactant.
I think I will get another 2 years out of this bottle, maybe more seeing as each year there are less weeds to kill.
Sprayed the sethoxydim 2 weeks ago and celcius last Saturday and the dallis leaves are toast.

Bermuda is beautiful grass. There's a reason golf courses use it.

Around Lafayette, low chance of rain thru next 24 hrs....will apply Weed Free Zone first chance in morning.

Yes, and yes. Used Milorganite this past year with very comparable results. Only lowes quit carrying the milorganite halfway through the damn growing season

Remind me, do you moonlight making house calls, or know someone in Baton Rouge that can? My yard is absolute dog poo, the home builder or developer that tried to make sure every weed and grass type that Louisiana has to offer, along with intentionally planting Siberian Elm trees in half the yards needs to be beaten senseless. I need professional help, I’ve tried self treatment, but the crap is winning.

@Nasa Iss Tiger
Probably henbit. Google it. If you are into wild edibles, it is one of the good ones.
Any bermuda-safe broadleaf weed killer wil kill it, but it will keep coming back without a pre-emergent.

If it’s henbit then you can spray atrazine as a preemerge around November. After it comes up you can use MSMA to burn it down but it might not kill it.

I helped out a few OB'ers in this area last year, but the new baby has me close to home as of late. My own yard is pretty damn rough haha.
Email me some pics and such, and we'll try to get something working

Could be henbit, but don't rule out annual blue eyed grass. I had a battle with it last spring, as I had used Specticle pre emergent in the fall, as opposed to Simazine. Specticle didnt cover the blue eyed grass, so I used Surge post emergent to kill it.

Wow. What a great thread, and quite timely as I was just cussing all my winter weeds this morning.
I have half centipede and half st. aug lawn.
What can I put on the whole thing to kill the weeds and also serve as a pre-e? Spray the weed-free zone over the whole yard?
I've used Scott's Turf builder/weed and feed to disappointing results in the last two years.

I'm not a fan of Scott's even their southern lawn products. I'd rather use a strictly pre emergent blend then kill the existing weeds with something like 2-4d

Scott's "Halts" is strictly a pre-emergent.

My bark yard is 50’ wide by about 30’ deep. I hate the grass. Any idea how much it would cost to have someone kill it and replace it with something nice?
