We’ve had a Bike+ for 3 years now and use the shite out of it.
Bike+ gives you a swivel screen and auto resistance, which I like personally. Get on FB marketplace and find one used, lots of good deals. My father in law got a used Bike+ for $800.
Buy some adjustable dumbbells with the extra money and you can do the weight programs which I find more than adequate for 95% of people.

Best way to lose weight is diet. Exercise can add to that, but you can't keep eating what got you overweight and just add in some cardio and weights and expect the pounds to fall off.
Which is why walking is great. Sure it doesnt burn lots of calories, BUT it doesnt increase the appetite like high intensity exercise does. Itd be much easier to cut calories while just walking(even incline or rucking) than doing intense cycling sessions and trying the same decrease in calories.

just FYI, someone in my house has used our Peloton almost everyday for the past 4 years either for yoga, biking, body weight workouts, meditation (to get the kids calmed down), or the biking games (kids) just a counter for all the "it will be a coat hanger" comments
I have the bike and the tread +. My wife and I use one or the other daily. For the tread + you won’t find another slat mill treadmill in that price range.

This. Also had it for almost 4 years and use it a ton. The auto-resistance on the Bike+ is a really nice feature.

You can’t out-train a bad diet.

Diet isn’t the best but it’s not horrible.
We eat a TON of deer meat and don’t really eat a lot of fast food. I try to cook for the week on Saturday evenings which consist of deer sausage, deer burgers, chicken and ribeye.
Trying to drop the beers on the weekend. That’s the hardest part for me!
When I say in shape, I’m looking at dropping 10-15#’s. I’m short, like 5’4” short and weigh 165. If I could stay around 155/150 I’d be happy.

I'd say a bike is a great idea for you. And cutting out the booze is a must for someone as small as you. If you're trying to get down to 150 (which is still a little heavy for your height), you just can't consume a lot of calories unless you're working out a ton.

Have great muscle mass in legs and chest/shoulders, it’s just my “beer belly” I need to trim down which is why I need to cut out drinking beer!
We looking at a few used bikes so pretty sure we gonna bite the bullet soon. Will keep yall posted on how this goes.

My rule is that if I'm wanting to lose fat then I cut the alcohol completely. It's the only way for me until I reach my goal.
It's not simply the calories but it does something to my metabolism apparently that puts a halt for a few days to a week to any fat loss that may have been occurring. And I'd just as soon not prolong the period of time that it may take to lose the fat that I'm after.
Additionally, If I get really buzzed like I like when I drink I'm in danger of doing some stupid eating.

Take a look at facebook marketplace. You can get them for 400 less depending on the area.

My wife uses her peloton all the time. Get one used on facebook

What part of town? I stopped using my Peloton Bike after my knee surgery as I can now run again. Bought it about 4 years ago and used in 3-4 days per week; haven't fired it up in a little over a year.
Not sure if I will go back to it, considering a rowing machine myself.

True, not everyone is a pussy. You, however, are probably the biggest one here.

I’ve had a peloton bike + for almost 4 years and a Peloton Tread for 2. Use the platform in some way every single day in our house. The Bike+ is a nice upgrade to the regular bike. The auto resistance is really nice and you can use the swivel screen for the other classes. I also feel like it’s a more solid bike than the regular one, and visually nicer looking without the exposed screen wires.
Is it worth it? Maybe….is it a necessary upgrade? No. But if you have the extra cash, go for it and you won’t be disappointed that you did.
