When TD expanded and added this board the first few months was nothing but some good ole baws talking each other up and sharing workouts and diet tips. I guess part of it is a lot more people post here now but there's certain posters that are "my way or the highway" that just straight up ruin good discussions now. Just remember to start out with a 72 hour fast no matter what. If that doesn't work, do it again then go keto WOE.

People want quick fixes and nothing complicated.

The people who push complicated shite, push it on people like it's a religion.

There is no open dialogue without declarations and name calling.

About a year ago it was nothing but dudes giving updates on their results and encouraging each other. No matter what methods everyone was using. Its just a lot less positivity around here now.

Certain diet philosophies (less so training, I think) have gotten a little cultish, where they are the way, the truth and the light.

I'm firmly in the "more than one way to get results" camp. I have my preferences, but the more consistency, the better.

That's what I liked about it. I don't like CrossFit but I didn't give people real hell about choosing to do it. I questioned the methodology but it was not toxic and was open.

The diet crap nowadays are what's wrong with the board. Zealots that declare the only way to lose weight is XYZ. You'll take note on how it should IMO be handled by my response in the current "weight loss" thread.

Yeah I agree though I'm still relatively new, I've heard and it seems people are only interested in up votes and are willing to sell their own MOM for them. That being said you can't really complain too much because for the most part this site is rare.

Aside from Facebook not many places you can go online to interact with the community. Most people to trash talk and make a smart arse comment on the threads to get these up votes. However, I love getting online and seeing what new thread is created and depending on the topic ill comment. I have made a few questionable threads myself but most have been kind enough to respond .

Seconded. There are lots of diets with good scientific basis, but people easily get into camps on that where it's their way or the highway.

Training is way less prone to the zealotry, which is sort of odd.

It's core philosophical differences.

On one hand, you have a group of people on this board who live in the actual real world who promote protein goals, small calorie deficits and TIME.

On the other, you have people suggesting that there are only 3 food groups: Meat, Eggs, and Piss. And when you're not eating Meat, Eggs and Piss you're not fricking eating.

No doubt. You and 77 are staples on this board and can generally be trusted with pretty much everything yall say. And the best part about it is neither of you are condescending and you actually seem to take joy in seeing other posters progress.

Even though you feel that way, you should still seek out your own opinion. Take what others say and make that a base to start the journey of knowledge.

Haven't been on this board long but I agree with this.

I have learned who to listen to and trust but others that are new here may not so it needs to be more discussion and encouragement and less cult like opinions otherwise this place is no different than the Poli board if you think about it.

I know what has worked for me and agree there are many ways to achieve results but am always open to learn more which is why open discussion is great instead of "drinking your own piss is the only way" like some people act here.

It’s hilarious. The people that do this act like it’s the only way. I’ve never done keto, but I don’t see many people walking around that I would peg to have a lower BF% than mine. There’s many ways to skin a cat.

It seems like if we avoid nutrition talk this board can have good discussion. Nutrition threads always devolve into pissing matches
