Would the Floatride Run Fast London Pros be a good fit for me? I primarily run 5Ks and 10Ks. 5K times average between 25-27 minutes and 10K usually around 55 minutes. Usually do a minimum of one 5K / month.
I train CrossFit 4-7 days / week, but haven't been able to do that since 3/16, so trying to stay on top of cardio since I know strength has and will continue to take nosedive. Don't really put many miles on my shoes other than actual races, but have since the gym restrictions.

I’ve heard the upper isn’t great on the London, I’d go for the Energy 1.0 or 2.0.

I own a pair and it’s a style shoe. Nobody should run in that shoe. Walk briskly, maybe. But not run.

Floatride Run Fast is what you're looking for if you seek a similar ride to the OG pro.
6 ounces and 65 bucks with the code home.

Thanks guys. Knew I would find solid feedback here. Have been getting some good road and trail runs in during all of this and thankfully still have access to a university's track in the town a few miles north of me.

I've done 100 miles in FlyteFoam and my verdict is... DOA. This foam was dead on arrival. There is nothing new, revolutionary, innovative, bouncy, responsive, etc. about it. It's just a pretty hard EVA that might be a little lighter than normal EVA. If ASICS is jamming a carbon plate in the middle of this shite, that'll be one rough ride. If you like it firm and rough, you'll love Flytefoam. I think that last sentence deserves a gig em! Eh?

I didn’t realize this, but apparently the FlyteFoam in the NovaBlast is “FlyteFoam Blast” and is different than the other versions. No clue how though. I think the Blast variation is the one they’re trying to put in more shoes. The regular FlyteFoam I guess is reserved for the Asics stalwarts like the Gel-Nimbus, Gel-Cumulus, etc. Either way, bummer it ain’t good.
I’m struggling with the fit on my Reebok’s. The foam and ride are wonderful, but my right foot feels like it shifts a lot and if I tie too tight my foot goes numb. Can’t wait to see some reviews on the Peg 37, feel like it may be similar to the Epic React now that they put React foam in it.

With the air unit to keep the ride from being too mushy which can be an issue with React, and a proper upper instead of the knit upper nonsense, I’m pretty interested myself. I’ve never had a shoe mess up my feet as bad as the epic, so I hope it’s nothing like it, personally. lol

I actually ran 4 miles this am in some old Kinvara 7's that were in my closet. They felt nice. Ran in them from the 3-8s and then started venturing out. May try a new pair to go with my Nike ZF.

That's why I got the Rincon's. I wanted to branch out and try something else. I just don't know if it's worth the money. I like the fit and feel of my ZFFK better than anything.
I may return the Rincon and get the New Balance FuelCell Rebel to try. They look comfortable.

Same here. Did a 12 mile workout in them today and I absolutely love them, always have. Have about 190 on mine and I saw my anniversary present box from Heartbreak Hill running store in my wife's office, which likely contains my Next %, to be gifted on 5/14. That said, I think I will use my ZFFK more often and then transition to my VFFK4% after that for speedy stuff, with the Next % for racing.
My only issue is I'm not sure of the longer term effects (if any) of running most of my runs in a plated shoe.

I’m not worried of any potential effects.
I used my 4% FK for my track run on Tuesday. I break them out maybe once a month for a good track, threshold, or pacing run. Every time I’m reminded how much I love them.
I haven’t run in my Next % since the Houston Marathon, saving them for my next race whenever that is. Maybe I’ll take them out for a virtual half or something.

With y’all on the ZFFK’s, love mine and trying to keep them only for racing. I got some ZFSP’s not too long ago for cheap (see Strava today
) and took those out today for only the second time and was surprised how much I like them. Might alternate those and my Hyperion Tempo’s as workout shoes.
Only thing I don’t like about both is the lateral instability. New Orleans roads are gonna kill me running in the ZF.

Yeah they are definitely cliff hangers when rounding a curve.

I like mine a lot. They are very comfortable for what I would probably call a tempo day shoe. They have a good bit of cushion for a shoe in their category while keeping a light weight. Not always a fan of a knit upper, but it has one of the better knit uppers I've tried.

Aight kids, time for some old school cool from the beginning of the Running Shoe Thread.
Escalate 2.0 $65
This was a great shoe regardless of the drop. I'll admit, it hurt me the first time but I couldn't resist.
Bonus: Peg Trail $65
I bought em both.
P.S. Nobody gives a shite about your opinions on zero drop regardless of whether you're for or against.
ETA: I replied to PHB but this comment is not directed specifically towards him.

Same here; for casual/work wear if nothing else.

Thanks for the Peg Trail link. Didn't have my size unfortunately. I have 4 pairs of trail shoes that I rotate pending trail / weather / length, so silver lining is I just avoided the "You have too many pairs of shoes" conversation with the girlfriend. Don't own a pair of Nike trails and like look of those.

Sorry if this has been discussed, but are custom made shoes worth it? If so, any quality mail order custom sites? Thank you

I’m looking to run 2-3 trail races in LA/MS this winter. I read that the Pegasus doesn’t have much of a toe bumper or a rock plate. Are those generally preferable around here, or are those features for rockier terrains?
Also, do y’all see this price drop as permanent?
Sorry for the newbie questions. I’ve never bought trail shoes, and I’ve only run one trail race. This is outside of my comfort zone. ??
