Patrick, see if you can't test out some Altra Escalantes. Not sure if the stack height works for you but the underfoot feel is very good.
The 2.0's upper is very good not like the original version.
Thanks, Burt. I have been wondering about them for quite some time. I don't think the stack height matters as much to me as the heel to toe drop and the wide toe box. After running in Altra's for so long, all other shoes feel cramped up front to me now.

I got my Nike ZF 3's in yesterday. Just put them on. Damn they feel nice. Hope to hit the pavement in the morning to test them out.

Athos, it depends on the model of the shoe, but many of Brooks models are notorious for being best for wider feet. There is also a difference between a wide shoe and a shoe with a wide toe box. I have a narrow foot, but I like having extra room for my toes to be able to flair and for my big toe to be able to adjust when needed. I land mid to front and like having a lot of play and flex in my shoe. I used to run in Asics which fit my narrow foot well but switched to Altra later on when I decided to adjust to a zero drop shoe.

You sure? I’ve had a PT professor recommend Brooks after doing an assessment of my fear?
What other suggestions are there for narrow feet?
AFAIK, the only Brooks models that run narrow are the Hyperion Tempo and Hyperion Elite. Tempo could work for sprints and gym, but probably better shoes out there on discount.
If you have a truly narrow foot, then almost anything Nike would suit you. Maybe Epic React, Peg 36, or Peg Turbo 2. I’ve also heard Hoka tends to run narrow but have no experience with them.

I like my Adrenaline. It had been a long time since I bought a pair of Brooks, but my PT had recommended them also. So I typically run them and Nikes. Occasionally I'll throw on some old Kinvaras, Altra Ones or Escalantes for a different feel.

Burt, my wife got me those escalate 2.0 for Father’s Day. I’m looking forward to breaking them in next month.

I think you'll like them. They're pretty light, soft but have a nice rebound. If it had a 6-8 mm drop, it'd be my main shoe forever.

Yeah. I read and watched some reviews on them and the look like they are right up my alley. I just hope the sizing is the same. I we are a full two sizes larger in The One Than o do in any other shoe.

Usually when something seems to good to be true I follow my gut, but I’ve come across some Skechers razor 3’s for $59 on Amazon. I am having a hard time pulling the trigger because I’d hate to be scammed.
Help convince me one way or another

Probably legit. The red colorway has been popping up for $50 to $60 all over.

I ran in my escalante 1.0 this am. Forgot how soft they were and how the zero drop smokes the calves!

Zero drop saved me from plantars. Did more for my feet than the podiatrist.

Have we discussed a break in routine for new shoes? What's the recommendation for a new pair?
Posted on 5/27/20 at 7:19 pm to Aubie Spr96
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve had to break in a pair of running shoes yet. I feel like we’re at the point where a prolonged break in period isn’t necessary.
If it is, maybe take a short walk in them followed by a .50 to 1 mile run, repeat until broken in to your liking.

i've been running 5 miles 3-4 times a week on pavement and my calves have been extremely sore after my run. I've been running in Nike Pegasus for a few years now and haven't had this problem. i purchased the Pegasus 36 a few months ago but just recently experienced the calf issue. Wondering if its the shoe or bc i've been running a little more than usual.

Probably bc you’ve been running more or are running with a different form. Pegasus is between 8 and 10mm drop, which is considered high. High drop is supposed to relieve tension/activation of the calf muscles when running.

How many miles are y’all getting out of the Nike Zoomfly FK? I’m a tad over 200. I know the 4% and N% are billed as being at their best for 100 miles only. However, that’s due to the Zoom X foam I’m pretty sure. The React in the ZFFK is more durable. I only use them for speed work these days; but just curious when y’all have retired them?

Only 40 or 50 miles on mine bc I reserve them for races, but I’ve seen people on RSG FB group get 250+ out of them. React foam is pretty stout and the rubber grip holds up well.
