I understand what you are saying, baw.

At this point, I'm just pushing myself. I did the same four-mile sprint right into the teeth of the wind today as I did yesterday, but went much faster even though it was windier.

When you got started did your dong get numb after a while? Is it a seat thing or just something I have to get used to?

Yes. Stand up on the pedals every once in a while or make a minor adjustment to your seat angle until you find what works for you. Get some padded bike shorts too.

It's a seat type and position thing that can lead to bad things if you don't get it sorted. You need to get professionally fitted on your bike. Many bike shops offer this service. They also make seats specifically to relieve the pressure point areas that cause the numbness. You should not be having dong numbness!

Split-yes but different than most. This is what I settled on for one of my bikes. I like it enough that I need to purchase another.

Selle SP-01 Boost. As saddles go it’s fairly inexpensive. If you look hard enough it can be found for $75-$100.

The rear has some slight rocking give to it because it doesn’t connect. The 1st time I rode with it I got off twice because I thought I hadn’t tightened it down enough. Finally I understood the give was what I was feeling and after a few rides loved it.

I’m jonesing for the full carbon version.

Every ride, a can of 20% foam OC spray on the bars and a single stack .380 in a bellyband.

And so the build begins. Probably going to take it to the bike shop this week to have them look at the frame to tell me if there's any major problems that I'm not seeing being that I've never done this before.

That's pretty badass. What are you planning on doing to it?

I dig the bike stand too. I don't have one so I just cuss and fumble when it's time to work on anything

Going to try and keep a somewhat classic look. But I'm really just doing it as a project to better learn the ins and outs of a bike, so if it turns into a franken-bike then oh well.

Bought it for $100 off of Facebook Marketplace. It retails at around $430 so I didn't ask any questions when I picked it up

Really pushed it today. 15.33 miles at 18.1 MPH. One of my best days in a long time. I rode with two of the best riders in my area, and although they dusted me at the end, I really pushed it. Can't wait for tomorrow!
