Bro post a pic! I'd love to see what 24% BF with abs looks like. Maybe you have a fat dumper like those instagram models? I'm curious. No homo.

be interested to compare to an inbody scan (which I think generally underestimates body fat %) and a 3D scan, which I have come to feel is brutally truthful. DEXA should be the gold standard, but I am not exactly sure how technique dependent the test is (ie inter observer or operator error). I owned one of these scanners for a number of years at a clinic I was a part of, but our printouts did not render a bodyfat measurement, and when I was younger I never fretted over such. I'm sure if I had just asked the right person I could've made that happen as I'm sure it was just as capable of measuring it then as it is now. This was around 1999-2007 and we owned the machine for measuring BMD in post-menopausal women.
I was curious and plugged your height and weight into a body fast estimator (didn't know your age so I used 35) and it spit out 20%, so that 24% measurement wasn't as far off as I had thumbnailed it to be based on your height and weight, of course that is a simple statistical nomogram and doesn't take into account many individualized factors, but I use it as a baseline.

dexa is gold standard but the test is expensive and like an inbody can be thrown off with water intake, cutting carbs, etc and must be done by fasting. the biggest thing on these is just having a reference sample and then plotting the trend.
personally for me, inbody has been really close(like 98-99% accuracy) to dexa. but i make sure with inbody i take it the same way each time to though.

No they aren't

no they arent, but know how i know you are? you are confusing BMI with body fat %....i mean how many times do you have to be told they are not the same and how frickign stupid do you have to be in the first place to not understand they are not the same
and
how is bmi stupid when it is accurate for over 90% of the population and before you claim muscle mass, less than 10% of the US population does any form of resistance training. Maybe 5% lift in a way to put on significant muscle.
so how is a system that is pretty accurate in prolly close to 95% of cases suddenly stupid? because an nfl linebacker is an outlier or because it told you...hey you are obese?

Tell me bout it. i had one done about 3-4 mos ago. i have clearly visible vasculature in my arms (when pumped you can easily follow biceps vein from shoulder to wrist). Clearly visible abdominal muscles (not wash board abs, but visible musculature, my says i have a sick pack, she being nice). barely any pinchable skin on legs.
i went in thinking about 17%. Stupid thing came back 20.5%

I wonder if anyone has done a dexa scan and compared it to the weight scales that measure BF via electrical resistance.

i did. day after dexa scan did a at home elec scale. 20 dollar one. Renpho brand.
two settings
regular
athlete
Dexa: 20.5%
regular put me at 23-24% (there is no way im at the percentage)
athlete at 16.7%
those scales are notorious for being off mark though. it am using it just as a tracker of up and down from that baseline to gauge when to do my next Dexa.

Thant shouldn't matter for DeXA like it would for water weighing, plethysmography, etc

depends on the machine but most want you to atleast only be in a gown with underwear.

you suck. I have to get down to like 10% to get rid of the little belly pooch on lower abs

I did an inbody a couple of weeks ago. I am the exact same height and weight. I cannot see my abs and I was at 13%. I don't lift, so I am not muscular at all. I know genetics plays a huge part in ab presentation (some are just really blessed). But I just can't believe you would have a six pack over 15%. That is just unheard of..
