Check out Pennington Research Lab on Perkins. They have studies that include a decade quite often and would in turn pay you for it

depends on the machine but most want you to atleast only be in a gown with underwear.

Just sayin' - I know what they tell people, but think about the physics of it...it uses x-ray absorbtiometry, so as long as you don't have something that causes scatter (metallic buttons, snaps, zippers or possibly some reflective strips) it's not going to cause artifact or an invalid result. The documentation at the facility where I am now tells patients to wear loose fitting clothing without metal fastners, snaps or zippers.

Not trying to be argumentative, just to let OP know that wearing clothing is not likely to have caused any appreciable degradation of his result.

no they arent, but know how i know you are? you are confusing BMI with body fat %....i mean how many times do you have to be told they are not the same and how frickign stupid do you have to be in the first place to not understand they are not the same

and

how is bmi stupid when it is accurate for over 90% of the population and before you claim muscle mass, less than 10% of the US population does any form of resistance training. Maybe 5% lift in a way to put on significant muscle.

so how is a system that is pretty accurate in prolly close to 95% of cases suddenly stupid? because an nfl linebacker is an outlier or because it told you...hey you are obese?

this is a very generous view of BMI.

I found a paper looking at the correlation between body fat % and BMI. It was r=0.75, which is social science level, AKA crap.

Then there's this:
The general association of BMI and all-cause mortality follows a U or J curve, with very high mortality among people with very low BMI (<18.5) and very high (BMI >40). However, the most common unexpected finding is that people defined as having a normal or ideal weight with BMI of 18.5 to 25 does not necessarily have the best survival. In many cases, overweight people (BMI 25 to 30), and those with mild to moderate obesity, (BMI of 30 to 35 and 35 to 40), show the best survival.

Presumably the negative consequences of carrying the extra weight is more than cancelled out by having a reserve in case you get sick.

I was curious and plugged your height and weight into a body fast estimator (didn't know your age so I used 35) and it spit out 20%, so that 24% measurement wasn't as far off as I had thumbnailed it to be based on your height and weight, of course that is a simple statistical nomogram and doesn't take into account many individualized factors, but I use it as a baseline.

I'm two inches shorter and 10 lbs. heavier than OP, and no visible six pack. The estimator I used also had me at 20%
