I don't care, freely use the 2.5's and I take my 1.25's with me to the gym on days I need them. Also have some awesome little dumbbell fractionals in 1.25 lb increments. Whatever works to stay on a progression plan.

If you're not micro-loading with 2.5s and 1.25s, then may posterity forget you were once my countrymen.

I might need some of these. I've been stuck on 145x2 on OHP for 3 weeks. Might need to move to 142.5 just to get that third rep I'm chasing.

They are absolutely important, if you can do the same set and reps with that weight then you know you are getting stronger. Love he 2.5, don’t hate.

If you can't get your hands on 1.25s, 1 pound ankle weights work good in a pinch.

Used them once in my 28yr gym career. They are really not that important in the grand scheme of things.

tell me you don't progressive overload without telling me you don't progressive overload.

I ignored them as well for close to 20 years

I did not join the 1000lbs until I started using them.

Subtle “I can bench 2 plates” brag

Those plates look so “manly” compared to some of our YMCA’s old flat sets. There are no slots to easily grab them and barely a lip. I’ll get a pic tomorrow.

This. I have me a personal set of microgainz 1.25 lbers
Posted on 5/12/22 at 7:23 am to DarthRebel
Except when someone hides them on the squat racks behind a bunch of 5s and 10s.
I use them all the time.
I only use this on a max lift day, to go 2.5lbs heavier than the posted max lift. A win is a win.
