Momentum goes against the logic of building muscle. It's cheating and there's no other way around.

It’s not about building muscle. It’s like barbell cycling with light weight. It’s cardio.

I’ve already explained this.

I gotcha, cardio, I didn't see your post. I'm going to sign up for crossfit tomorrow to see what all the fuss is about and I'll be reporting back.

I hope you do. You will probably be really impressed with the results.

I used to hate on Crossfit too. Then I started doing it.

I’m curios what momentum you can have hanging off the side of the building. Again. You’re just humping the building. It you fell and are free hanging from a tree or bar... sure. I’d kip every time.

If you truly sign up, you’re lucky to have great coaches, good programming, and you’re not lazy you will love it.

you were hanging off the side of a building holding on for your life, you would not try a strict pull-up to get yourself up. You would hopefully use any means necessary to get yourself up, so why not practice that?

Lol I actually chuckled a little. You ain't doing a kipping pulling with a wall in front of you. If you like CrossFit, good on you. I think it's a good program but don't bring dumb stuff like that into arguments.

It's a movement for competitive only. Don't try to justify it any other way. Just like the circus dumbbell in strong man. It's not a functional lift. It's just for show.

I could be like "oh man, if I only had one arm and needed to lift up an object off me, so glad I did those circus dumbbells!"

I don’t have any issue with CrossFit, it’s a perfectly fine way to stay in shape.

I do have an issue with some who believe exercise didn’t exist before CrossFit.

So you believe crossfit may have cult like tendencies? Interesting

I’ve never done CrossFit, but still don’t hate it. It gets people off the couch and honestly has more people working out than I’ve ever seen.

It’s also very useful for someone wanting to join the military. The muscular endurance you gain from it is great.

Yes it is expensive.

I think some of y’all too damn scared to go try something different. Too worried that your bodybuilding crap y’all been doing all your life ain’t quite as beneficial as you thought.

Some others in here, including myself, were brave enough to step out and try something different and never came back.

So if you ain’t brave enough to go try 19.5 today then you ain’t got no room to talk.

Anything that gets people exercising is good. But doing Olympic lifts and other high risk movements is stupid for recreational/fitness athletes. Much less pushing themselves into rhabdo.

I've tried Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, Strongman, straight athletic training, Weightlifting.

I dunno why you think I think badly of Crossfit. I think it's a good program. I just think those silly arse pull ups are an abomination.

Crossfit is for wimps that couldn't cut it bodybuilding. That's why kipping was invented because crossfitters are too weak to use proper form. I witnessed a well respected crossfit guru kip for eternity and he tried to do one real pull up and failed.
