Workout of the Day

Ouch. Today was the makeup for missing Thursday. Now I wish I'd have gone Thursday . I dropped out at 15 minutes. I was scaling numbers down but got to 4 reps on burpees and was light-headed so I stopped.

We did 400m walking lunges with 53# KBs a week or so ago and I couldn't sit down for a day or 2

Just finished 400m with 15# DBs. Thought I was going to need a wheel chair to get back home. Thanks for the great idea!

Scratch that.....did this instead

Find a heavy single clean and push jerk

Then 10-8-6-4 clean and push jerk @ 50% 60% 65% 70%.......touch n go.....rest as needed between sets

Then

21-15-9

KB snatch & T2B

I worked on C+J today as well. Just worked my up to 90% of my max.

Then did 12.2.

AMRAP 10:
30 snatches 75#
30 snatches 135#
30 snatches 165# (sub 145#)

I got 61 reps. 165# is my 1RM so I had to drop that last set to 145#. Not sure how many more I could have done even with more time.

I'm thinking about starting crossfit, but have some concerns. My feet are really flat and has caused me to have a lot of pain. It is better with wearing good shoes for my day to day functions but I'm nervous that a lot of running will make it flare up again. I have decent strength, but really need to work my cardiovascular health.

It wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't cost so much. The crossfit gyms near me cost about $180 for month to month ($135/mth for a 1 yr contract). I just don't want to get started and my feet hurt so much that I can't walk, which has happened before.

Any advice?

Define running a lot..........I wouldn’t say that we do a lot running at my gym.

If you have foot problems you can always sub rowing or biking for the run.

We rarely run, and when we do it's not much. In most warmups, we can choose rowing over running.

Geaux will always allow you to sub rowing for running.

We tend to run a 400M warmup lap every day when the weather permits it, and we usually have a multiple round workout, which includes running (400, 200, 150 or 100), at least once per week.

Finally cleared out my garage lifting space. 425lbs worth of weights.

I’ll probably lift more than Crossfit at home, but I do have an Assault Bike, GHD, Box, wall ball and small rig. If I do anything Crossfit-like, I’ll probably do intervals with the AB, GHD, Box and Rig.

Assault bike is terrible. Had sprints incorporated in a partner wod yesterday. Felt like death after.

I can never get motivated to do a wod at home. I lift, do EMOMs and accessory circuits though.

Last time I did DT was after about a 2 month layoff from Crossfit. It absolutely destroyed me.
