With the heat and me increasing my distances, I'd like to start carrying some water and perhaps some energy bars/gels. What's the preferred method for this? I found THIS on Amazon for pretty cheap. What are yall using?

TIA.

Disappointed I thought this thread was going to be about running on gear.

I use this to carry water and a little food in my long runs/races....my training runs can be up to 5+ hours, and races could be even longer

The REI in Birmingham opens soon. I’ll go check that out. Thanks

Belts started getting on my nerves, so I switched to the top Salomon vest. Can't remember model but it's super breathable and light. You have to buy the big hydration bladder separately but it comes with two small handheld ones for the front pouches.

It looks kinda goofy but who cares. The large bladder area also comes with an insulated pouch. For a marathon this summer I just filled the bladder with ice and let it melt and keep my cool.

Phone in one pocket. Salt stick and bars in another.

I'm kinda bad at hydration and fueling. If I'm running more than 8 miles I'll design my run to pass by a public water stop. I bring fuel if it's going to be more than 2 hours.

I have worn a basic CamelBak with really long runs (18+ miles). It's not ideal but it allows me to bring what I need without purchasing something new. When I don't bring a CamelBak I use the zippered back pocket in my shorts to carry a gel. I do run with a belt big enough to fit my phone so my shorts pockets are generally empty.

You can also look into a running best, maybe one made by Nathan.

First 250 in the store this Friday and Saturday get gift cards of varying amounts. Might try my luck on Friday.
