I did it. Cold turkey about 16 years ago. I’ll have some green tea or regular tea. I drink decaf coffee. I can’t drink regular coffee anymore. It instantly gives me a headache.

Have you noticed any benefits from quitting?

No and there is no reason to.

Unless it’s affecting sleep or causing anxiety issues you really have no reason to quit

Week long camp back in early highschool only had water to drink. Killed my taste for soft drinks. Never even tried to like coffee.

I quit cold turkey once.

I'm already a bit of a depressive person, but the lack of will to live I felt after quitting caffeine was unbearable. I never understood true depression until that point. I was irritable and anxious, I had headaches, and I was foggy. But I really can't explain the depression I felt.

I jumped back on and then a few months later tried to wean off. Got off of it for 3-4 months, had a cup one morning and finished all my schoolwork for a week in advance of due dates and realized that I was hooked for the long haul.

It affects everyone differently.

Yes. Sucks for a few days then it’s fine

I was hypersensitive and had withdrawal migraines and I wasn’t even a big consumer

50 mg when I wake up.
32 oz of black coffee from 9-11.
50 mg with lunch.
50 mg at 3.
300 mg at 4.

Repeat.

I’ve used 500mg capsules of DL-phenylalanine (an amino acid) for immediate, no real withdrawals. Though I recommend tapering down to one cup first, then take the jump to see how you body reacts. Take one 500mg for every cup you usually would have.

The habit of drinking something warm in the morning is a fierce beast.

Caffeine is like creatine, it has really been researched into the ground. Most studies say 3-7 mg of caffeine to kg of bodyweight is perfectly fine for daily intake

Yes. The most notable is sleep. I can’t get to sleep anywhere, anytime. What you notice most is what happens to you when you get some caffeine by accident. I get a massive headache and VERY gittery if I even have a little caffeine.

Caffeine is a drug. It is a stimulant. It is not good for you. I’m not sure how it became socially acceptable to be put in everything, but it’s harmful and not good.

Pro tip: If you go through withdraws after quitting something, it wasn’t good for you.

Yep. Sucks arse.

I just try to regulate it now. If I get too much I sleep like shite.
