Looks interesting, if I am not seeing the results I want while drawing close to my goal date I will definitely look into that. How much of those ingredients did you buy from that list?

Workouts aren't pointless if you eat king cake. They're only only worthless if your only motivation to work out is weight loss, which is a terrible reason to work out.

You're getting downvoted, but you're correct. You'll still gain muscle even if your diet isn't ideal. In fact, the caloric surplus would even help. The problem is you're adding fat at the same time.

The only one I would have to buy is the keto maple syrup or I could make it. We keep our house stocked with most of the ingredients on the list. Even when we are not strict keto, we don't use sugar or flour.

I use that website as a good guide, but don't follow that exact meal plan.

That's true, but my point is more the mental mindset around exercise. Weight loss alone is a poor excuse to exercise. Exercise is for your mental & physical health, not just weight loss. Even if you're obese, your health markers will be much better if you consistently exercise than those who are equally obese and do not exercise.

Also, just because someone ate a little king cake in the break room doesn't mean they're automatically knocked into a calorie surplus. Skip some calories at dinner, or skip a snack you'd otherwise eat. As long as it's not a habit, you'll be fine.

Black/white thinking in nutrition is more harmful than helpful in the long term.

Chappy does not have the discipline to have a cheat.

This much is cringefully obvious.

That logic is specifically why most people feel like they can't control themselves. They give that food too much power and avoid it and then when they do allow themselves to have some they eat too much of it.

To each their own, some people are much more successful with that strict mentality, but I think in general it causes people to fail long-term.

That’s a fact. Once I’m in, I’m all in. If I have 1 beer, I’ll have 15 and a poboy. It’s just who I am.

I’m all in on the diet or nothing. That’s something I’m working on as a person.

Ok 1 month measurements.

I’ve lost 10lbs and 2.5” on my belly.
Could I have done better? Absolutely!

I’m taking Ryno’s attitude from here on: This is my job! I need to get this done!

No cheats, no booze during the week, Lent-no booze at all. I’m adding yoga on my non push up days, alarm is going off at 5:30-30 minute fasted walk every day.

Keep it up Coach!

190 / 176 / 150

I thought things were moving slowly but realized I’ve dropped 9 lbs in the last month. Stick with it folks even if the scale doesn’t seem to be moving.

Great work. One question, why are you trying to get to 150? That's skin and bone man.

Realigned goals for 2022 after a great ~16 months beginning late August 2020 when I ballooned from Covid.

2020 - 2021:
230/192.5/195

2022:
192.5/186.5/182

IF pretty consistently the last year and a half. Some very light strength maintenance (push-ups, sit-ups, resistance bands) but mostly just moving around more and eating less. When I hit 182, I'll pick up the strength side to hopefully land around 190 (6'3").

Sober as January Ryno since 12/31 except for a built-in cheat for a wedding earlier this month. Weighing less feels fantastic, but the mental sharpness from no booze is another level and is addicting. I planned to ease it back in after January but nothing has come up to make me want to pop a top or dive into a bottle.

I’m 6’3” and graduated high school at 190, but was primed and ready for college basketball. I’m thinking 210/215 is about as small as I can get. We shall see. I’m shooting for 220 right now. I’ll readjust when I’m there.

I wouldn’t wait on the strength side if that’s a goal of yours. It’ll help shed those last lbs much quicker

Yea I may dive in early. Getting the urge more these days with the extra energy. I'm not trying to get swole, more just panty dropping toned, so it hasn't been a huge priority to this point other than the light/moderate resistance work.

Get it, baw. I suspect you'll adjust when you get there too. My goals have shifted a few times the last year and a half as I hit each checkpoint.
