I’m 48, 6’1 and 185 pounds. I typically do 2 sets of 55 pushups/day. How would one rate that? I feel like I have pretty good strength and endurance.

I think it was an old military test not sure but try doing 250 pushups in 15 minutes as an endurance test.

that is strong. I am a 34-33-33 pushup set guy.

I once did the 100 pushup program and was able to do 100 without stopping after 6 weeks. But that was 15 years ago.

Do you workout in a gym or mostly keep it to a push up routine?
Any workouts included is my question?
I am 52 and try to workout 5 days a week. Always enjoyed doing pushups but with chest days and other routines, I find that my arms get pretty tired. Didn’t know if you do both or just home stuff.
One of my employees husband wakes up everyday a does 100, pushups, sit-ups and air squats.
He is a lot younger but in great shape.

I'm 53 and do 50 pushups once a day, same for sit-ups. If I tried for a 2nd set on the same day, I don't think I could do that many. Doing it twice a day is very good. I do at times falter around 40s and have to crash on floor, wait a minute and start back up.

I may give it a go. I’ve been mixing in a lot of pushups into my workouts. Some on chest day but then 50 to 100 over a workout on non chest days.

Usually sets of 10 to 15 on chest days superset with close grip dumbbell press and sets of 25 on non chest days.

I don't know if I've tried 50 straight, usually I'm aiming for 5 or 6 sets so I do 25 to 30. 55 straight, twice, seems damn good. I'm 46.

I’m 51 and have done 45 before I stopped. I could have pushed 50, but it wasn’t part of a workout, I was more just showing my wife.

I have an upper body routine that I do...I start with 34 pushups, do 33 in the middle of the routine, and then finish with 33 or max

This thread inspired me to see how many I could do without stopping. Made it to 50 and gassed out. Gonna try again in a couple weeks and see how it goes

I’m 62, but did the 10,000 pushup challenge posted in here about 10 years ago - I believe it was August 2014. I failed miserably - only 6,000+ in, but it felt transformative.

On some days, I’ll still do a couple of hundred pushups across sets of 50.

I may do the 10,000 pushup challenge again as well.

I’ve always heard pushups would mess your shoulders up over the long term. Any truth to this?
