Tonight. Best time yet. Ran the entire 5k, no stops, and a nice pace, staying in the anaerobic zone 4 for 90% of the run. First time I've ever run it without slowing down to a walk several times

Ive been slacking over the last 8 weeks with just a few runs here and there. Spring is a busy time!! Going to make more of a effort to post here more often to hold myself accountable!
4/20 - 4 Miles easy at 8:40 pace
4/21 - 7 Miles with mile repeats
Mile 1 warm up - 8:55
Mile 2 - 7:24
Mile 3 - 8:31
Mile 4 - 7:22
Mile 5 - 9:07
Mile 6 - 7:26
Mile 7 Cool Down - 8:53
Longest run since Feb 28. Going to pay for that one tomorrow, but at least the weather has been awesome the last two mornings.

Tickfaw state park. 50k and 50mi it’s a loop course ~6 mile loop. Plenty flat but plenty hot.

What does the route for this one look like? River trail then get on the road to hit the trails around the nature center and back to the river trail for 5-6 miles per loop? I tent camp there often during the fall - spring season and done most of the trails with exception to the entire river trail. But based on what I have seen it will be really flat. If you have to get on the road, that section would get warm during the later parts of the day in July. I am interested lol!

Yeah that’s pretty much it. Most of it is partial shade but there is a spot by the river that’s full sun for a short distance and then the main road up towards the gate section is full sun mid day as well.
Heat/humidity is the worse part of the race but hey it’s south La.

Ran my first Boston Marathon yesterday. Was doing well till about mile 18. Those hills kicked this Louisiana boy’s arse

That's really cool, my 7th grade algebra teacher was this tiny tiny woman, and she ran the Boston several times back in the late 80s and through the 90s, that always impressed me so much because to me the Boston Marathon is THE marathon in the US. Is the entire course hilly or just some sections? I've never been to Boston in any way, for some reason I never pictured it as hilly.

This is what the elevation was like. The first 4-5 miles downhill is interesting, then relatively flat till mile 15. That’s when the Newton Hills come in to play, followed by Heartbreak Hill around mile 21. I thought I knew what to expect, but it was tougher than I thought

Thanks brotha, I am happy with my race overall. I’ll definitely be back one day! Just may need to run my 2:49:59 in Houston or somewhere flat

I've been chugging along with my easy runs and sub-threshold workouts. The tendonitis that made me miss the CCC is mostly resolved now that I took a few down days and have been staying on the rehab exercises. Back to the 40ish mile weeks.

Watching Boston has me wanting to train for a marathon to BQ but my wife would kill me

Local 5k this morning, 24:13 with stroller. 2nd in age group, 1st stroller by a pretty decent margin though. Huge hill at the end was absolutely brutal on my quads but it was great passing people with the kid today.

2 guys under 2 hours at the London Marathon this morning. It was Kejelcha's first time ever running a marathon. Hell of a debut

Not to mention a third broke the previous WR as well. Absolutely insane.

11 on trails, right at 10 pace. Something about running trails just hits different.
