Supposed to be 10 5k's, 2 1/2 hours apart for 24 hours. We did 9 total. Had a massive rain storm roll through around 9:30 pm that brought hail and wind with it so they cancelled that round.

God damn 10 rounds? I was thinking 3 or 4.

This format is getting popular I’m seeing it pop up in lots of places. Gonna give it a go.

Were you able to set up a tent and all that?

Give it a go. I have a tesla so I slept in the back of there on my kids play mat. There were a lot of people who had tents. But the 50 mph winds during the rain storm did not mix well with them...

Overall, it was a great time!

That sounds pretty cool. That would be hard recovering after about the 6th one to stay loose and ready. We do a 5x5 in January where you do a 5k every hour for 5 hours and it's a blast. It's super fun when you get to commiserate with people.

There's a race called Outlast coming to the North shore this December. 5k every hour for 6 hours, fastest combined time wins. I don't think I'll do it but it sounds interesting

The cutoff time for Boston recently came out at BQ -4:34. This is after they lowered the times as well. When I was 30 the BQ time was 3:05:00 which is around a 7 minute mile. 10+ years later its still 3:05:00 for my 41 year old arse, plus almost another 5 minutes... So nearly a sub 3 hour marathon for a 40-44 year old man. I am not saying I am close to getting a BQ, but it just seems so out of reach to even pretend to have it as goal at this point. Old guy is done ranting about the BQ status.

If it wasn’t hard then it would just be a lottery system. Seems people are capable of hitting the times otherwise they wouldn’t need to keep lowering. Boston isn’t meant to be a race for everyone. The biggest discrepancy is there only being a 5 min gap from someone that is for example 40 vs 49.

I don’t see the time penalty for downhill races having a big impact.

Totally agree. I think we're seeing the effects of the running boom that's taking place. People are getting faster, training is getting better, super shoes. I want Boston to stay exclusive. The cutoff buffer rewards people who exceeded, a lottery is just luck.

Hill run. 2 miles @ 130HR. 2 miles @ 140HR. 1 mile at 150HR. 1.5 miles at 165HR. Little twinges pissing me off, but nothing major. Drank beer. Ate wings.

Did my usual 10 x 3:00 threshold workout today. Trending a little faster every week. I just wish my treadmill's calibration wasn't dog shite so I could have an accurate distance, but I guess it ultimately doesn't matter as long as I'm getting fitter.

Uh, yeah!

I don’t mind rucking but I can’t imaging trying to run with one.

Well, I've lost quite a bit of weight and I thought adding it back would help burn those calories like when I was heavier. After I ran it, I took it off and ran a cool down mile, and holy shite, I felt like I weighed 2lbs.

BTW, what vest do you have? I bought the Rogue because it seems better for running rather than a goruck or something similar.
