Down to only 24 miles last week. It's CCC week

I need to just tell my fam I am going to do CCC one year. Family Easter plans have always made it impossible.
However, my 6 y/o daughter came with me to her first race this weekend and did the fun run and placed. So if I can get the kids into it... the wife can't say no, right?

We always have Easter plans that day too. I just run, grab my poster ASAP, and shower at my parents' house before we meet up with family.

The shorter the shorts the faster you run right?!?! I did my 5k PR in 4 inch shorts, next year I'm going down to 2 inch shorts - need to knock another 30 seconds off my time

When I first started in college I was horrified of the short shorts. Didn’t want to touch them. My teammates broke me down until I finally caved and then it was all in head first.
I only use two inch in seems now. Even if it’s cold and I have to run in pants I’ll have them on under.
The guys I used last night must have had a thread in the netting give or something that loosened em up enough that they won’t stay in place. A few cars that passed by may have gotten a peak at the boys idk.

No joke. A lot of posters ITT (and several runners in my town) seem to make it an annual event.
It's a 1.5 hour drive for me, so I would likely need to come down the night before, run the next morning, and then drive back for Easter family fun time.

Ran 13.1 miles this morning and thought a lot about what this day was like for my wife and I 12 year ago in Boston. Couldn't sleep so I got a early start on the run and figured why not just run a half. This date just messes with my head on what could have been and just how lucky we are certain decisions were made instead of what the plan was.

For those that followed what I said about the runDisney Facebook, she's on there showcasing her giant fake tits and her 13:05 pace (NTTAWWT).

Baw, I wasn't saying she was something special, quite the opposite. She's just a huge attention hoe that posts those fake tit photos because she's thirsty as hell.

Dealing with sharp pain on outside and back of left knee, especially when making lateral movements or going downhill or having to slow down going downhill. Was not ready for that 27 trail race, farthest I ran in training was 14 trail and the last 5 or so got me. Sharp pains started at 20 but I hobbled in, taking another few days off to rest and hoping it goes away.

Plan to come next year!!! Its a lot of fun. There are enough NO and BR people here we can get you fixed up.
That said, here is the yearly reminder the CCC is a fun race. The one where you allow yourself to have fun, take in the sights and sounds, and not fricking grind data for an hour. Missed your split? GOOD.
Running now between diet, training, rest, recovery, injury and making time to do all those things causes stress. This is the race where you forget all that and remember why you started in the first place, its fun!
So enjoy (and hydrate gonna be hot), I'll see you in the Quarter after the race!

A couple of years back a bird shite on me right at 5k. I pulled off to the side, used some water to wash it off my head and singlet, then jogged it in
It's going to be hot and humid but it looks like we might have a really nice tailwind all the way up Esplanade. That should take some of the sting out of it.

15 miles tomorrow -- Carbs, hydration, and rest today.
Long runs on a weekend morning might be the highlight of my life.
