Rested for almost 2 weeks, tried to run Thursday and it's a no go. Very sharp pain on outside and back of knee. Last year it happened and doc gave injections, said cartilage in knee looks horrible so I have an appt for more shots Friday. Not being able to run just sucks, have to stay very strict on calories now lol.

Good luck on the knee and ditto on the eating. My wife gets mad cus I eat like a 12yr old and still lose weight!!
15 miles at 12:13 pace. Right at three hrs practicing walk run and used my new hydration vest and dialing in my nutrition and gear in the middle of the day trying to acclimate to the heat and how much electorates I need .

Still dealing with a tight left hammy. Ran 12 zone 2 miles today. Still tight, but will continue working it out. Next target race isn’t until late July.

5 miles at 10:00 pace
Was going to do 15 but my right ITB started bothering me at mule 3 so decided to make it a short day. Hoping it’s only from all the squats/RDL/box step ups I did yesterday.

Been quietly working since the CCC. 31 miles last week, probably 34-35 this week. Goal is to be at a steady 45-50 by the end of summer. I think a leap in mileage is going to do good for me.

Been averaging about 30m a week the last couple of weeks and was about to step it up to 40ish and figured I would keep working my legs because I had a IT band issue in my left leg after the La marathon. I assumed it was because I wasn’t doing legs because I was so focused on mileage.
It wasn’t hurting as bad as my left a few months ago so hopefully it clears up quick, was planning to run a 50k in June.

Injections in both knees today, going to take the rest of the weekend off to rest and try a few short miles next week. It is harder not to run that it is to train for a big race, forced rest just sucks. Have been able to get tons of school done and spend some quality time with the little one so I probably need to stop whining.

Ran the Pine Mountain Big 50 (25k option) this morning. 3rd place finish. Pretty happy with the effort on technical terrain with plenty of elevation.

I'm going to do the standing boy 50k in Columbus November the 8th, you going to run that one too?
Had planned on doing the one you did today until my knees flared after the lake martin 27 miler last month.

Didn't even know it was a thing. I'll look into it. I'm doing the Arkansas Traveler 100 the first weekend of October. I should be recovered enough for a 50k after 5 weeks.

If so and you remember, holler at me. Not sure your pace but I'll be shooting for 6.5-7 hours. Good luck at that 100, you guys are a different breed man.

Will do. Just looked it up. That's my buddy John Pollard/Revolution Running that's hosting. I'm sure I'll be there. I would guess I'll be shooting for about 6 hours with that elevation profile (depending on weather and how well I've recovered). Hopefully we can get some miles together.

Back on the roads this morning after a two week post CCC break. Interesting how my HRV spiked from recovering. Think I’m going to lay low throughout the summer, maybe run 3 days a week and lift 3 days a week. Recently rebuilt a road bike so planning to try my hand at that as well.

Same. I'm getting to an age that any break in training (even 30 minutes) results in loss of fitness. Not ideal.
