2x 1 mile @5k pace this morning. Was supposed to do a third, but I bailed after the second rep. I hit 5:30 and 5:35, so not bad.

Goal is to go 16:59 in the 5k this weekend, but I don’t know if that’ll happen at this point. Weather looks crappy and I just don’t feel like I’m there fitness wise right now. Gonna give it a go anyway

I haven't run since Sunday, it's weird talking days off during a training block but my right ankle where it connects to the shin was in excruciating pain and it was causing me to not want to run... So I'm gonna recover until it doesn't hurt. No need to push myself so hard I end up with an injury again, it's not worth it

Hope it gets better sooner than later.

I'm an endurance runner, it never gets better I just get better at ignoring it

10 miles today @ 7:30

6 miles sub 7:30, 4 miles 8:00 - 8:15

The warmth has returned to the South, wondering if I need to move my training to the morning for the remainder of my plan

Shifting from mileage to weights for the next 6 months. I need to get stronger. Got a couple of kettlebells and working out 4-5 sessions per week. Mileage down to about 30 a week. Three races in the horizon that will be run for fun.

6 miles at 138HR. 800 ft of climb brought the pace down to 11:08/mile. Felt good. Beer and BBQ.

20 miles @ 8:39min/mile

I started out very strong but as the heat came in I about died. This might be the last time I train for a Marathon in Spring, it's so discouraging as the heat comes back how bad you feel

My moronic self also didn't start until 10am, so as I ran the heat of the day rolled in like a tidal wave

What pace is this? Assume you're not doing 18 in the morning?

I did the 20 miles at a 8:39 minute / mile pace average - got super dehydrated and crawled to the end but I got it done

I'm doing 10 with BTC tomorrow.

You had asked about the VO2 test - why not just go back to the same lab you go to for your other test? I've heard nothing but good things about both, I've only known people that have gone to Samford

18 at 8:37, legs felt like dirt the last 6 miles. Hoping it was due to a short week between 16.2 on Sunday and an overall poor diet/hydration week. 8 more miles would have have a grueling slog

18:02 this morning in the 5k. Not a PR or my goal, but I’ll take it in these conditions.

I slept in and didn't go with the group run this morning - went to run at 9:30 and felt like trash right away (I'm thinking due to still being dehydrated from yesterday). Cut my goal distance from 10 to 5.

Finished - will do 5 recovery tomorrow for 4 weeks of 50+ miles... So ready for recovery next week

Slept in too. Might have had something to do with the wings and beer from last night. Ran the hills today. 1200’ of gain over 12 miles @ 138HR and a blistering 11:20 pace.

9 miles, 9:00 pace, 150HR with a buddy after lunch. Legs are still dead from running with the stroller earlier this week. Usually run in the mornings, have forgotten how fun it is to run when it's over 80.

Not about me but my daughter ran a half this am (3min pr) but at some point she was with a guy and she was pacing fro him. She asked if he was doing half or full — he said full. Just signed up Friday and hadn’t run more than 6 miles. Ever. At that point they were running 8:30ish pace. Weather was perfect for zydeco this am.

We’re wondering if he made it poor fella. No idea who he is or where from and she didn’t catch his bib number.

I used to run .. and to go from 6 —->>> 26 isn’t very smart.

bless his heart

5 miles today, finishing up another 50+ mile week. That's 4 weeks in a row of 50+ miles, 6 of the last 7 weeks have been 50+ miles.

6 weeks out from my Marathon, 1 week of cutback next week, then 2 more weeks of "peak" (with one 22 mile run) and then taper! Marathon is upon me, only 2 more weeks left for me to put hay into the barn and then it's go time!

While I was running my first marathon in January I ended up running a chatting with a guy who was running his first as well. He told me he had run 5-6 or so as his longest and was gonna just run the half but decided to run the full. I congratulated him on his bravery and that I would have been to scared cu I was old. I saw him laying on the ground with what appeared to be his family somewhere around mile 15ish.
