10 at 9:15 on Saturday (goal pace was 9:24). It felt nice out there.

Sprints this morning:
1 - 1 mile at 7:24 (goal was 7:40)
2 - 1 mile at 7:12
3 - 0.50 mile at 7:03 (goal was 7:24)
4 - 0.50 mile at 7:03

I might move my schedule around some this week, but I have an easy 7 (9:54), 25 mile hard bike, and tempo (1 easy, 4 at 8:28, 1 easy) planned before I do 16 at 9:39 with the last 6 at marathon pace (9:09/mi) on Saturday.

Do you guys run with green snot sinus infections? I got one right now but I still feel like I need to run. I have a 10k on Thanksgiving too. But I'm hacking up green shite.

Yes. Running has often served to clear my stuffy nose and sinuses, mostly temporarily though. Make sure you're staying hydrated and get better bro.

3 miles tonight.

1. 7:57
2. 7:50
3. 7:35

Felt great. 10K this Thursday. Trying to decide on whether to do my scheduled speed work Tuesday or just an easy 6 miles and take Wednesday off. Thoughts?

Thanks, man. I'm feeling pretty cruddy tonight. Didn't run today. Might try an easy run tomorrow to prepare for Thursday. I hate sinus infections.

St. Jude half

Ran it in 2019, such a fun race. Hard not to overdo it when running through the St Jude campus.

Why do sinus infections knock you on your arse so bad. No fever, but I feel like shite. I might miss this 10k.

Thanks for the feedback, fellas. I have decided to run the Mercedes Marathon in Bham on 2/13/22 (the weekend after the NOLA Rock n Roll). Fitness level is decent and I think I could have gotten away with doing the LA and meeting my goal of 4:00:00, but ultimately decided not to rush it since it is my first marathon. Maybe now I can shoot for 3:45:00!

PS. F Rock n Roll. They are refusing to refund my entry fee. I told them that I don't want to run the half or do another marathon in a different city and they just keep responding with some generic response. That's the last time I'll be signing up for one of their races.

That sucks--I'd keep pestering them because that's BS. I'm planning the run the RNR half as my first half marathon ever. Wondering how this will impact that race. I'm expecting there will be a lot more racers at that distance since some of the marathoners will drop back to the half?

10@8:27 today.

Starting to up my mileage a bit bc im gonna run the Louisiana full on Jan 16th. Felt like a pretty easy pace but that 174 avg heart rate says otherwise I guess. Not sure what that’s about.

Got a race question for the board:

I'm running a local 8K with my brother. He's not out of shape, but he isn't in shape either if you know what I mean.

Anyway, do I simply dust his doors and wait on him at the finish line, or calmly jog with him at his pace and help him get through the race?
