Mon: OFF
Tues: 8 (2x:16 @ 6:50 - 7:00 Pace) Tough
Wed: 10 (Lakefront Bike path)
Thurs: 7.63 (1 hour HARD run) Fastest pace in heat (91)
Fri: OFF
Sat: 21 (Lakefront Grass) Up and over levee 18x's. Used Tailwind instead of GU's and gatorade. Ran out of fluids (2.5L) with 3 miles to go. Needless to say it was hot(Liked the tailwind but needs tweaking before race)
Sun: 10 (Easy) 136 Avg HR @8:57 pace

Total: 56.63 miles

With 1 week left of high mileage, I am feeling good. My main goal was to stay healthy and make it to the start line. SO far the plan is working. Next week's runs are gonna suck but now I can see the light. Increasing my medium run to 12, my long run to 23 and my Sunday run to 11.

Guys, we all have new goals to strive for while training. Hahah

"Kenyan Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge set a new marathon world record Sunday, winning the Berlin race in 2 hours, 1 minute and 39 seconds."

Today I finished my first ever double-digit run. 10 miles in 1:29:00 with some hills. Around mile nine it felt like I was running with platform shoes.

Weekly total is 25 miles.

I would have loved an American to do it but it’s really cool to see Eliud’s hard work in Breaking 2 translate to a WR. Very very awesome.

I can’t even wrap my mind around how they go that fast for that long

Just for comparison I went and sprint quarters this afternoon. Set my PR since HS (51 back then) at 1:15.

The dude today ran faster 105 more times.

On the plus side my pimp arse pizza Skechers GOMeb are boss. Incredibly responsive. Rub my Achilles a bit but those shoes are fantastic.

Got 12 miles at 8:09

I should have ran slower, but was too inspired by that marathon record

new MTB,

Did my first “long” run today. We started way too late this morning.

10 Miles @ 8:05 pace. Didn’t take in enough fluids for the humidity.

Eliud Kipchoge posts here, he was showing you some disrespect. I recommend Sonic.

Dont know much about MTB's, but did some research and found this on craigslist. Think I'll be happy with it. It's an XT 1x10. Was hoping for 1x11, but think it'll be fine and can always upgrade. Was much cheaper than buying a new bike, that's for sure.

My 9 mile run did not turn out well yesterday. Too tired to run in the morning. The heat killed me when I finally got it in around 5. Even at my impossibly slow pace, I walked a lot. We need a cold front.

Anyone here run in Altras? I run in Brooks Ghosts right now but I'm looking at some Torins as a backup.

I have pair of altra one's. I don't run more than ~3 miles in them. I run in ghosts for my long runs. That's because of my personal achilles issues. Ghosts are 11mm drop compared to 0mm on altra. Big difference in the type of shoe. It may work for you, but its definitely something I'd ease into.
