5k in 22:27 this morning. 22:30 was my goal so I'm happy, but there's so much more work to do for me to get back to where I used to be.

Good job, dude.

And just FYI, my last marathon, I lost both my big toenails.

It happens.

Nice job everyone on those long runs and milestones.

I did 7.50 this morning at 8.46 pace, all these long runs moving forward will be my longest runs I have ever done. So feels good to do these. Two months until the half.

Felt good today, weather was nice. I did stop and take about a 3 minute break as I ran from my house up to the M Casino. I popped in and placed my homer wager on LSU +10.5. Haha

Hell yeah! Do it again next week but be careful wanna keep your long runs under 30% of your week total.

Catching up on some missed miles today. Went across town yesterday to pick up my new MTB, so that took up most of my time after work. Plus I rode that around for a while because who isn't going to play with their new toy. Decided to skip my 3 mile run. So it was 3 this morning, 5 tonight after game, 9 tomorrow. All super easy.

Training plan had me running a 5K today, rather than a long run (low mileage week prior to upping the mileage next week). Since I’m working nights and I didn’t see a local race anyway, I just woke up and mimicked a 5K. 23:50. Figured it wouldn’t hurt to update my VDOT also. Heat was brutal. These mid day 100+ runs have to be conditioning me... for something...

I don’t remember this much humidity in September before. I know October will be better but sheesh.

I’ve noticed that Hal Higdon has a lot of weeks with long runs at 50%.

I run them reeeeaaallllyyy slowly though.

Taking just one break is pretty good if you’re just now getting up to high mileage runs. I usually have to take a few every Saturday.

Thanks for this thread, Salmon. It's the only thing that kept me from porn bomb suicide tonight.
