Thanks 1999,

This advice really helps big picture--> I can just run & not worry about the "next lap". Program my watch & go hard.

NYC Marathon

hopefully that follow Boston and issue a full refund and also allow your qualifying time to carry over. Boston has been about the fairest way of handling cancellations I've seen so far. it only may have negative affect to those who were right on the cutoff edge as they could get bumped if any qualifying races are run and get faster fields. I know this won't be an issue for you.

You can refund, donate, or carry over for the next three years. More than fair IMO.

18:40 5K this morning on a super hilly route.

Wasn’t expecting that at all. Makes me wonder what I could do in the fall with some real speed training.

This damn rain is obliterating any mileage I would have put in this week. Just can’t find a window without torrential downpours.

Same here in Texas. I get like a 30 min window and then a downpour comes. Looks to be this way for a few more days. June total mileage is going to suck with vacation and now weather.

Yeah, I love running in rain but the sky falling shite is a no go. Looks like we'll be dealing with it for another week or so. Not too concerned with mileage for the next month. As mentioned before, my son starts school beginning of August and we have vacation end of July, so just trying to maintain what I can until then.

Hmmmm, I'd be interested in that. What model do you have? My Vivoactive 3 has been atrocious lately; I'm due for an upgrade.

What I found on Google. Looks like your smartphone has to be connected during the activity for it to work. No go for me as I don't run with my phone.

How does Heat Acclimation work?
The heat acclimation feature is available only for GPS activities and requires weather data from your connected smartphone.

Compatible devices1 provide acclimation notifications and corrections to your VO2 max. estimate and training status when the outside temperature is above 22ºC (72ºF). Temperature readings for this are based on the weather data from your connected smartphone rather than sensors in your Garmin device.

Full acclimation takes a minimum of 4 training days.

Heat adaptation will begin to decay after 3 days of no heat exposure training.

Put in 6 miles last night. I’ve never sweated so much in my entire life. When I sat down for beers with the wife on the patio of a local restaurant, it looked like I had jumped in a pool. Miserable.

This am was pretty brutal as well. Got out the shower 30 mins ago and still sweating. Same shite, different year.

I was planning to do my long run this morning but it was raining and the forecast predicted it would let up around 10AM. So I made oatmeal and tea, and started my run a little after 11AM. It's still a little humid but the air temp was barely above 70°.

Planned for 9 miles at 80 minutes (8:45 pace), finished in 78 minutes (8:39 pace). Tomorrow I plan about 12 miles, which should put me at about 40 for the week.

Sometimes I’m dumb.

Mistake 1: When I wasn’t able to go on my 13 miler this morning, I should have pushed it to tomorrow, not 2 pm today when the heat index was 96.

Mistake 2: Running said 13 miler after fueling with just a single waffle and 20 oz of water for the day

Mistake 3: Getting caught in conversation with another runner late into mile 1, who slowed his pace to chat while I increased mine substantially, until we split after about 2 miles.

I don’t think I’ve ever walked so much to try to get through a run. I did finish though, but it was at an 11:13 clip.

Just finished my run and I’m soaked. This humidity is ridiculous.

Saw a fellow runner with a surgical mask on. Hopefully he doesn’t collapse wearing that thing.
