Finished at 2:04 for the half. Maintained my 9 minute pace for the first 10 miles, but hit the wall. Miles 11,12 and 13 really had to work to finish. Two gels and 16 ounces of water.

Biggest issue I faced was soggy shoes and socks from sweat started aggravating me around mile 8.

Peachtree Road Race "The World's Largest 10k" this morning. Slow AF. I ran ok for 5k (around 23 minutes), then went into ultramarathon mode run/walk. Ended up finishing in 52 minutes.

Im sure some of the others will be able to help more, but I just switched from injini socks to some wool merino socks and its been a gamechanger for me as far as moisture. Im in southern bama so humidity is high and the trails I run have a few creek crossings and those merinos drain fairly well to me.

I've been chugging along with 40+ mile weeks, it's just not interesting enough to post since it's all threshold stuff

I'm about to get a pair of Superblast 3 because my 2's have seen better days. I've got almost 500 miles on them and only use them for long runs

My personal running stinks lately for the most part. I did get to hike around the Banff area for a couple days and will crew/pace at cascade crest 100 tomorrow. Only race in the cards for me is the local Bozeman Bridger Ridge run August 16th. Mostly hopping to not fall down and manage to beat my SO to claim the household trophy. Race is trail run 19ish miles 6k gain 8k decent. Fun times!

I’ve cut back on my mileage a bit this summer. Last 2 months were mostly focused on shorter sprint stuff (100m-400m), which was fun and a nice change up. Also been incorporating more strength training to be a little more well-rounded.

Hoping for good weather for Cajun Cup 10k in November (been very hot the last 2-3 years). Would love to get as close as I can to 36:00 in the 10k. Current PR is 37:18 in shite weather. Gonna run Houston Marathon again in January to try and snag a 2:49:59 or better…

I am sure you've seen reviews, a lot of people who loved the SB2 have not loved the SB3. Megablast may be more in your wheelhouse as I think it is a little firmer. Or the Dynafish - did you ever order? I joined the Supwell App, it's honestly way better than I thought. $5 a month and the shoe marketplace is loaded with hype shoes for cheap. Worth checking out.

Nice! Saw those pics of Banff, my wife and I discuss visiting often but not sure our girls are ready for that sort of trip yet. I'm planning on doing the Armadillo Dash 13.1 again this year...doesn't hold a candle to trail races on the coasts. One day I'd love to do a trail race in CO or nearby. Nothing crazy though, half marathon is about all I have time to train for these days.

Noticed you've been taking it easier! I tried to do the same - basically easy runs for all of May and June while I worked on form/increasing cadence. Diving back into workouts now though. I don't do a ton of strength work, try to get it in like twice a week - but I do notice it helps. Specifically core work. Knock on wood I've not had any major injuries or weird things flare up.You got Houston! Feel like that race is really hitting it's stride. Lots of elites starting to go since it's flat, fast, and usually cold. My wife's cousin is planning to run it for a BQ - he's usually a 5k/10k guy so this is his first full. I know he has a sub 75 minute HM, but not sure if he can hold pace the full 26.2.

In a taper of sorts for my first 50k next weekend at Tickfaw State Park. I hope to go sub 6, but I am not certain thats going to happen.
Just picked up a new pair Asics Gel-Cumulus. Been using them shortly after my knee surgery and have not had any issues with the knee or shoes.
Races:
Diablito 50k - July 25
Q50 Bleau Moon 10 miler - August 15
Northshore Half Marathon - Oct 11
Turkey Trot BR - Nov 26
Wilderness 10 Miler - TBD
Louisiana Marathon - Jan 17
Zydeco Half - March 7

Thats all I got planned for now. Hopefully getting more miles than I would normally do this summer will pay off for the fall / winter races.

Yeah apparently the SB3 doesn't feel anything at all like the SB2 (which I've loved) so I'm a little hesitant, but yowana seems to like it a lot. I'll probably give it a shot.

I never did order the Dynafish. I still want to, but I found some Evo SL on sale for like 40% off and it was hard to pass up!

Adidas is killing me with these sales man. I bought some Evo SL Exo on sale, then they went on bigger sale, can’t return either pair. Ran 5 miles in one pair, didn’t love them so ate like $25 on those. Still trying to offload the other pair but when you can get the woven for 40-50% off why bother with the Exo

Same here. Restarted my training plan working towards the Jockamo Northshore half in October. Then I’ll start training for the Louisiana Marathon in January.

I took 2 weeks completely off to lock in on my last project, and it finally paid off. Passed it tonight, completed my degree in network engineering. I have been stress baking/eating and have probably gained 20 pounds in 2 weeks but Jesus I'll have time now.
