Feel better, DSJ. Don't push yourself too hard if you aren't feeling up to the challenge, especially if you're running a fever. Disclaimer: I am neither a physician nor a running expert. Also, the race is March 21, just so you know. Look on the brightside though, if you show up to race next weekend, you'll definitely come in first
I ran 11 miles in 1:36:57 today (8:49/mile pace). I formatted today's run to be challenging in terms of elevation, something missing from most of my training. It included two trips over the Bay St. Louis bridge and that dreaded hump in the middle (I went down and back twice and then finished my final 2.2 miles in Old Town). Down and back twice was 8.8 miles and I got that done in about 1:16:00.
I was consistently three minutes ahead of pace all day. I found a good rhythm and stuck with it. I was in a groove, which was very nice. I felt like I had strong legs which is a far cry from how I felt last Saturday.
Looking forward to lunch and some cold ones.

5K PR as well.
Thanks! That's my grown PR. I was quicker in high school. I'm quicker now. That was from the first 3.1 of 6...

Yeah-I meant next next weekend.
Sounds like your training is kicking arse.

Good to see PHB back at it again. Everything is in its right place. Time to get the band back together, eh? TR, BNG, PHB, HB, 3N, RS, and Mr. Mustache, if you're nasty. One of these day's we'll get a race together but I'm not fricking flying to Baton Rouge, that's for sure.
Edit: Forgot BNG, lol

Ah... The Inaugural TD Race and Drinking Party???
We should definitely call it a race, not run, since there is more than enough competitive spirit/ pride here...aka egos haha

I just bought a pair of Brooks anthem two shoes. They're black and gold
They felt good on my feet. Other than that, I did no research. Y'all know anything about this shoe?

Anyone running a race in April? There is a 10K here on the Coast I'll probably run in. I know the Crescent City Classic is big time.

First race of the year yesterday for me as well. Tackled my first half marathon and met my goal of finishing under 1:35:00. Finished 12th overall and 1st in my age group. Surprised myself big time

I'm doing a Spartan race if they don't cancel it because of the coronavirus.

I finally got a decent base building week in last week. My goal this week is to get about 25 miles in with some hill sprints and a fartlek or two. I'm looking forward to running some new routes while on vacation next week.

What did you do last week?

If you've ever had to rewear running shorts from the day before because you didn't have any clean ones you are immune from the coronavirus.

Mostly just easy miles. I threw in a few hill sprints about about 1/2 a mile of tempo just for thew heck of it. I'm mostly just trying to get my aerobic fitness up to par for the real work I'm about to put in.

Only if you wear them on your face though.

Haven't been able to run since Friday. Eff the flu man. Hoping to get a few runs in before the 10k Saturday.
