I saw that this morning and I'm frankly jealous. I'm nowhere near close to a sub-7 minute mile, and you did it with almost 200 ft of elevation gain. Congrats!

Next race for me is a hilly four miler on Saturday. First test of the year. I don't think I'll PR but I'm aiming for a sub-8 pace.

Way to go with the PRs y'all. Judging by my Strava feed, it was a great weekend for fast running. Keep it up, race season is here!

Do you guys use different shoes for training as opposed to race day ?

Speed day vs recovery days ?

Also, is there a certain mileage you let your shoe get to before you upgrade to a new pair ?

Random questions I know just something that came across my mind on my run earlier.. hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Personally I have 8 pair I rotate.

Easy/Long - Adidas Solar Boost, NB FC Propel, Reebok Floatride Energy, Brooks Ghost
Tempo - Adidas Boston 7, Skechers Razor 2
Speed - Nike ZF FK
Race - Nike Vaporfly 4%

I usually start looking to retire at around 250.
Some will go shorter (4%) and some longer. I think I can get close to 500 in the Solar Boost and Ghost, although I really have phased the Ghost out already at about 300, just outta preference.

Nice. My brooks adrenaline GTS 19s are the only road running shoes I have. Been looking to add an extra pair or two to the ole closet. I've kinda had my eye on those Hoka Bondi 6s . Wanting a little more cushion for the longer runs.

The saloman Speedcross 4s I found for like 70 bucks have been pretty great on the trails so far.

Yeah, I had some issues with what was probably plantar fasciitis, so I switched exclusively to a bunch of well cushioned Skechers that I rotate when training. Need to get some new shoes for races but most recently wore Boston 7s and Adizero Tempo 8s (? Blanking on the precise number)

300ish. My knees will typically hurt when my shoes start to wear down, so I just toss them whenever that happens

Nothing to apologize about (except Roots, he knows better)but if you have the time, there is a bunch of really good info/reviews that'll probably influence your next purchase.

First run back and my foot is 100% good..I've taken my shoe off , did my PT stretches and everything. Hoping this is a done deal.

Heart rate took the biggest hit..my form felt good , muscle memory was there, but I was beat to hell .25 into it. My body felt like I was running a max 5K.

I'm looking forward to my 1 hour HR runs for a while..they will serve me well.

Just happy to be back and going to make an effort in the fall to climb the strava leaderboard and beat some of my previous goals.

It's probably good to switch your shoes up a few times a week for foot and ankle health, but I don't spend much on shoes. I usually buy one or two pair of high quality shoes that are 1-2 years past their release date for about 80 bucks a pair and get at least 800 miles out of them.

I try to have 50-60 miles on shoes for marathon or longer.

Anyone in Se La running a 5K over the next couple of weeks? I would like to get in at least one training session faster than threshold prior to my April 5th 10K. I suppose the easiest way to do that is a race.
