Yup, straight out of the south with gusts in the 30s. It was a good time you should do it.

I’ll take your word for it. I’d rather run in the snow storm we have coming tomorrow than in the 40 mph gusts.

That’s wild. We’ve had typical “winter” weather in Houston lately, mid 40’s in the am followed by 70 in the pm. Makes running in the morning good but if you can wait until the early afternoon, it’s amazing.

In SC this week for work and it is similar weather. Usually a lot colder this time of year.

Wind was ripping during my run last night. fricking bit. I had a windbreaker and that saved me. I can run in sub 0 if there’s no wind. But 30 with wind just sucks

Cast off, boot on..3 - 6 weeks till fracture is 100% healed

Tendon is fine and I experienced minimal atrophy.

March/April running with no issue as of now.

I figured out I can handle two out of three elements that make for a bad time; cold, rain/snow, and wind. If all three are in play I skip outdoor activities.

Making progress man, that’s good.

Final long run today before Marathon #2 next Sunday. I feel undertrained but mostly due to it only being 10 weeks since #1 in NYC. Usually when I feel undertrained I do better than I expect.

My main concern is that I’ll be traveling to the game Sunday and coming back Tuesday. Being taken to the game by a vendor and I plan on trying to contain my urge to drink everything in sight, because it will be free.

RS will be able to kick all our asses before it's all said and done.

Speaking of New York, TQ registration is starts on the 30th of January. I have the standard by 12 minutes so if they don't take me this year, they can suck on my arse and Chicago 2021 gets my fall marathon money.

BRM,

My neighbor who is a 38/M got in the NYC Marathon last year @ 8 minutes under standard with no issue he said.

I wont be kicking arse ,ever, but I did learn that overeating crap, sitting in a chair, doing no physical activity is something I will NEVER voluntarily choose.

Running is something I realized I really enjoy and need both physically and mentally. I'm excited to be back soon and focus on the fundamentals like nutrition, form , rest/recovery.

I hate running in wind, bc I am too focused on time even on an easy run. I need to let go.

Ran my first 10 mile trail race yesterday. This was my longest to date, so my goal was to finish in under 2 hours injury free.

It was a flat course but a complete mud slop with about 6 full creeks to jump across. That involved busting through the woods to find a narrow point.

Finished in 1hr 36min (9:38ish) pace. Very pleased with how it went.

I have one more 10 miler at the end of February on a tough trail, then ill be running a 25K with Salmon on that same track in April.

Congrats. Building up my mileage and hope to be there soon. I’ll take a trail run over a road run any day.

Ran hills yesterday. 10 miles round trip. Mile 2-6 was all up hill with 700ft of elevation change. The fun part was the last four miles which was either flat or downhill. That made it nice.

We had bad weather here yesterday. I tried to get out before the mess and didn’t make it. About mile 5, it was getting bad. I had several people stop in traffic and ask if I need a lift. Say what you will about Birmingham, Al., but the people here are great. An hour delay at Starbucks and a wet run back to the house.

Birmingham has a great running community. You can get really plugged in either doing trails or road.
