I almost shite myself today. It hit me on mile 7 of 8. I barely made it in time.

In all my years of running, I never came close to shitting myself. I do crap much more regularly though when running. I believe it's a combination of eating better and strengthening my core. In HS, several guys would rip off sleeves of old gym shirts and wear as headbands in case they needed them for wiping their asses.

I’ve been close on a few morning runs. Ran into the apartment and yelled at the fiancé to get out the bathroom

So I was looking over my marathon plan and it looks like my long runs top out at 3 hours and 30 minutes.

I am on an advanced plan but christ 330 that could potentially be 26-28 miles. I don't think that's normal.

Whose plan are you using?

It’s a McMillan but I’m modifying the miles to suit my needs and use a different taper method.

Yeah, but that’s of my own machinations, couple of fartleks and a tempo on Saturday once in a while. I haven’t really done a speed session from the plan yet because of this stupid 5k this weekend. All my speed work will be on the road though because that’s where I race. Up hill, down hill, wind in your face the whole time... builds character.

3 hours and 30 minutes

I did almost that with 20 last weekend. Nice and easy for the ultra training

Just wanted to say that I don't understand any of what you said here.

Yeah, it’s not great English but what I said was the stuff he (TR) was referring to on Strava had nothing to do with the plan I was on.

Long time no post for me but starting to run more consistently after several injuries this year. I too am struggling in this heat. I've decided to run on the days I am up to it, and walk on the days I can't deal with the heat. That way I at least get some exercise. Ran 5 yesterday and while times are still slow, it is getting better. Just signed the family up for Turkey Day 5 miler. I think I will also run the Spillway Classic and the Crescent City Fall Classic. My goal for the Crescent City Fall Classic will be top ten in my age group.

I will be in Shreveport next week for business and can get in a morning run. Any trail recommendations? Staying downtown but will have a car.

Here's to cooler weather ahead!

Lots of good racing this morning. Congratulations to everyone! Especially in the humidity this morning. I saw that TR got them bragging rights; way to get em, man.

For Shreveport, we have a running path that starts downtown and runs along the river. The path starts in front of the SciPort Museum.

It has mile markers and runs a total of 5 miles, so a total of 10 if you run the whole path there and back.

Nice running today guys. Had a nice slow trail run this morning.

2 weeks out from a 15 mile race. If it will just stay below 70 I think I can survive this thing. It’s in South Texas so I have no idea what to expect.

So yesterday's race was exactly how I thought It'd be, humid and kinda awful.

I'm satisfied with my performance which was 17:17 official on a short 3.07 measured course. (last year I ran 19:21 on the exact same course)

I beat 2 guys yesterday I never beat before and my strategy was to go out fast and hang on. If they were going to go with me, It would be at an honest pace because I couldn't out kick either.

This race course sucks.

Racing season is here!

Thank bro! You had a good one yesterday too! I think yesterday was a 16 something effort on a better course for me.

That 8k give you a good measuring stick for your half expectations?

Yeah I think so. Due to weather and running the bridge, I’d say my actual effort was around 6:35 (last mile once it flattened back out was 6:33), which would give me a good bit of wiggle room to be at 1:30 on the flat course in presumably Fall conditions.
