Thanks for the added pressure of my 1 mile race on Saturday hahah

I’m hoping to go sub 6 this year. I think it can be done. Shut up Arkie boys.

I did a 2:44 half mile the other day in 98 degree heat so I think it can happen.

Long time lurker and finally joined the TD Strava group
Have a half planned on Sep 22nd and rying to decide if my goal of sub 1:45 is too optimistic
My best half ever is 1:54 which was the front half of a full a few years ago
Mile time - 6:45
5k time - 23:08
10k time - 48:07

This thread is a great read and you guys are impressive

I second what Roots said about this thread. There are very knowledgeable posters in here and has helped me more with improving my running than anything I’ve ever tried.

Pretty sure I'd be close right about now. Once it cools off Ima hit the track and see what I can do.

Up to 64 athletes on there now.

There are a shocking number of ladies, and I’m curious if any of them post in this thread and we just have no idea.

Not to make it pervy or anything.

I'll take credit for at least a couple of them and I sure as hell hope they don't read/post here.

RS had a sub 7 this morning. Looks like he's gonna be beating a lot us baws up on here pretty soon. Really fun to see that time and all that effort paying off for him. Congrats RS!

I ran a slow 7 this morning. Just trying to slowly build up some base before I start back focusing more on running this fall.

Still eyeing a couple of 50ks for January.

Saints 5k this morning, went in just hoping for a 26:59, finished at 25:35. Pretty psyched for when it cools down, just need to keep my head down and start ratcheting up the weekly mileage. Feel like results are finally starting to show since I’ve started taking running more seriously in April.

Also, not sure what genius came up with the corral/starting setup...but it was a total cluster. We were supposed to go Wave 1, but due to poor organization and no direction at all, we started Wave 4 or 5. Hope they reevaluate for next year.

Need some tech help here, why aren’t my results showing up in Strava? I use a Garmin Vivosport and track using Garmin Connect. I linked my Garmin and Strava accounts, but nothing is showing up. App says it’s supposed to automatically sync.

Thanks BRM for the support.

My favorite thing is actually watching this thread/ strava group grow and see everyone fight like hell for their individual goals.

I'm years away from being a runner, which is exciting...I can focus on form , fitness, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

I'm 35, healthy, 1 year in, and have two functioning legs. Can't ask for more.

Good stuff RS!

Jordan - I use the Vivoactive 3 and don’t have any sync issues. Did you try to manually sync in the Garmin app? Strava tends to be glitchy on weekends (especially Sundays) and around races, so maybe it’s a Strava issue.

Thanks TR, that may be the issue. I’ll wait and see if it uploads later today or tomorrow. Anxious to start tracking/contributing to my Strava groups lol.

Also, agreed about the 5k winners. Was very surprised to see a woman at that time. Not sure what the deal is.
