Good news: BRM & TigeRoot's motivational speeches had me change some things around on my summer plan to bring some medals to the TD trophy case in the fall ...

Bad news: I only have a couple real shots at 3rd place finishes in the 34 -39 age group at some local events...and they only give coffee cups and car wash gift cards to the top 3 hahah....

Fiancé: You should run baby. It's good for you to have some alone time running.

Wife: You are running again?! You ran last week!

I haven't gotten two consecutive days rest in since last year. Hoping to do so today and tomorrow, assuming the call of the road isn't too great for me to ignore.

For me, it’s been like:

Fiancee: You should go for a run, babe. I don’t want you to get fat and be unhealthy.

Wife: You’re fat and unhealthy. Go for a run.

Back from a week long cruise where I managed to gain 8 pounds despite running 5 of the 7 days. As they say, you can't outrun a bad diet.

Time to get back to the morning runs and clamp down on the amount of food I consume.

I just got the update email It made me realize I need to go ahead and firm up my race and training schedule in build-up to Chicago

Signed up for another 50k on July 20. It's a night run - starts at 7:00 p.m. Should be fun, but don't want to push that one too hard because I don't have a lot of time built in for recovery.

Chicago marathon on October 13

I'll prob run a 5k on July 4th just to see where I am speed-wise. I've done hardly any speedwork over the last 4 months so should be interesting.

May run a half before Chicago (late August/early September) as a test run to figure out where I am with pacing.

Damn, Fall racing season will be here before we know it.

Still pondering this Hotter Than Hell Marathon on 7/7. I need to decide soon so I can coordinate work, etc. to ensure that I am off. I am confused as to whether it starts Saturday am or Sunday am at midnight. I'd be more inclined to do it if it started Sat than Sunday, but leaning toward not doing it anyway. It's a ways from home and will be Hotter than Hell, of course. Will come right near the beginning of my 18 week block for Jazz Half also.

Looking at doing the Twilight Classic 5K on 8/24 in BR though if any Baton Rouge-ites are looking for a Summer time race. Starts at 7 pm.

It'll start on Saturday night/Sunday morning midnight. I've got zero interest in running this one.

I used to love this race when it started and finished at the Kenilworth pool. Probably won't be able to do this one, since we traditionally have our fantasy football league draft the Saturday before the first LSU game.

Speaking of cool. Had a magical 78 degree night here so I went on a long trail run.

My slacking as of late hurt me a lot. I bonked mile 7 and I’m hurting like I just ran a half marathon or worse.

Need to pick up those longer runs in the morning... just don’t want to wake up at 5 AM every day.

I am still waiting on everyone elses July 4th weekend plans but always wanted to do this one. Would make it an easy run and enjoy some beer out there probably if I get to go

Did a 10k in this wonderful cool weather, was only like 80% humidity
7:59/mile avg pace, almost all zone 2 except last half a mile or so

Hey guys, I just started a 20 week marathon training program this week for the Marine Corps marathon on Oct 27. I’ve been using a AW3 for tracking runs for 6+ months and it’s been consistently 3% longer than actual. My local 10K course shows 6.39 miles and I did a half that showed 13.49 miles. I’m looking at the garmin 235 in order to keep an accurate pace. Thoughts/suggestions? TIA

It's a great watch - usually very accurate. I have one, and I think quite a few others do as well. Unless you're trying to go deep in the woods, it can handle anything else you throw at it.

Syncs well to Strava if you're on there. If not, get on Strava and join the TD Group
