Hu Flung Pu I think you just had a misunderstanding of how the programming works. Give it a try man.
I did and I admit it. I think there are better programs for my wants but I have a little more respect for it.

Tomorrow at GCF is:
Strength: Work up to a 1RM on Deadlift.
WOD: 2K row.
2K should take no more than 7-8 minutes for someone with decent cardio. So it looks like 30-40 min on deadlift following the class warmup.

Geaux Crossfit?
I'm in the process of possibly looking into a new box to join. Might give them a try one day

Yeah. I've been there since August 2014.

Ended up playing Saturday night in Flowood until 9:30 because of lightning delays in Clinton. Lost the finals to Houma there in PKs, after a 2-2 game.
My son crushed his PK in the shootout and had a 30 yd left foot knuckle shot go in last night against Brilla Flowood. That match was nutty. Kid from Flowood got a red card and as a team another 3 yellows. Parents were jawing back and forth, we had a few goals called back on offsides...if it would have been closer (4-1 final on a last second goal by them) I think hands would have been checked. I was embarrassed by some of our crew and I'm sure more than a couple of Flowood parents are as well.
We enjoyed the weekend. Nice to be in a big city.

You do all of your lifting there? I've found myself going to my regular gym more so at times bc I tend to focus more on bodybuilding lifts at times (which is what I've done for years) but I have enjoyed working on my Olympic lifts at the box. My local Anytime fitness actually has some pretty decent equipment to perform Oly lifts but I'd like to have a coach there to critique me.
I need a lot of help on the gymnastics part of Crossfit. I'm not even close to flexible (has gotten better over the last few months though) and I've got a history of shoulder issues already. The cardio part isn't bad, I'm accustomed to putting in 6-12 miles a week between running & sprints

Yes, for now. My garage is a mess and I can't lift there right now. I have a rack and 450lbs worth of bumpers.
You are limited at most Crossfit gyms for hardcore bodybuilding, though. DBs stop at 50 at GCF but they have a set of power blocks that go up 80 which I use for certain things. There is a flat to incline bench there as well.
GCF has open gym at 7, 8, 10, 11, 1 & 2. You can do all the lifting you want during those times. During class times, though, its only DB, KB, Gymnastics, and Pullup work. Dropping barbells disrupts the class and may be in the way depending on the workout.
They also have an Oly class on Thursday at 5.

I just started last month and I do love it so far.
Yeah, there are absolutely people that are wayyyyy to into it, but most are cool people, even some of the hardcore guys.
I really like the programming. I like how one day its mostly focus on cardio and the next is lifting. I like the mix.
I'm kinda disappointed it took me this long to give it a try.

Over time I've come to support Crossfit and have even done it a few times with friends. For people that commit and get over the starting working out hump they can make awesome results. But I still have 3 main critiques (which this thread has been awesome to see folks addressing these!) crossfit overall.
1) Some CF folks seem to get mad when people espouse legitimate critiques of the program that apply to most/all modern group-focus fitness programs such as some instructors with basic certificates that are in great shape, but have no business training other people; constant preaching/promotion of the program, and high cost since you are paying in part to be associated with "the brand", especially in big cities compared to similar fitness/gym options (same as soul cycle, orange theory, etc.).
2) The timed workouts with Olympic lifts as others have said. Snatches and cleans are great exercises, but not for everyone. I'm a boring lifter now, but focusing on the big 4 lifts works for me and I'm still making gains while (slowly, slowly) improving my form.
3) For some folks its a perfect program but some people have serious body imbalances and mobility issues that need other/supplemental exercises and more focused training them someone learns from a basic CF certification. I have several friends who started CF and had to stop due to serious issues. I don't only blame the CF gym, all of them should have seen their DR before starting and several should have even seen the PT as well. Most trainers (across the board) don't have the educational/science background to recognize these issues and refer people to proper professionals to address those issues before they end up hurting themselves. It happens in all exercise programs, but because CF can be really intense and put a lot of pressure on the body the injuries can be worse.
I recognize it is unfair to single out CF, most there is a reason for the stigma among medical professionals and PTs.
Sorry, got long, summary: I think CF is a really good program if you can afford it, but not perfect for everyone.
