What is more impressive?

100lb person deadlifting 400 (4x BW)
200lb person deadlifting 700 (3.5x BW)

I say the 700lbs is more impressive.

I'm a fan of xBW. Especially as I get older. I have no desire to be 225+lbs and strong as possible anymore. I'd rather be 185lbs and strong for my size.

When I was 15-25 I would have been on board with you regarding the 700.

Let's say these individuals were both 25 and we are assessing their accomplishments.

In that case I would agree the 700 is more impressive.

I disagree. 400lbs might be hard for that person but getting above 600 lbs, form and pure strength is absolutely needed. I don't believe lifting strength is linear.

The 700 lb lift is more impressive.

The 100 lb person needs to work harder at eating properly and building muscle

I think they both are incredibly impressive, but 700lbs is a frickton of weight. I don't even know what that would look like on a bar.

Then that 100 lb person is anorexic and is probably going to starve themselves to death.

Both. 700 speaks for itself.

The 100 pounder is either a woman, a kid or a jockey sized guy. Very impressive.

Guys this is clearly a hypothetical right? 100 pound men don't exist, let alone ones who can deadlift 400 pounds.

I go xBW cause I'm a skinny frick and it makes me feel better about myself.

Yep. I would think someone lifting 400 would at least have built some muscle lol. Either that or they are a stacked short person lifting with a deadlift bar pulling sumo so they are only moving an inch.
